Question about our friend Drizz't

When you steal the weapons (or at least one) from drizz't and you fight him... does he fight with weapons or not??? Because I'm soling with a bard and wants his armor. So I can steal his weapons and the fight him easily, because he has no weapons.... Does this work?

He fights with his one weapon that you cant pickpocket.

His avatar is made to look like he has two weapons but technically he only uses one of them and the other one is in his packpack. It is an oversight on part of the developers that the second sword is not unstealable.
