Hy. i have just start to play Iicewind Dale 2 and I don't know how to memorize spell with the sorcerress. Give me somme informations.

sorcerers dont need to memeorize spells, you choose spells at character creation and at level ups, and when they are depleted you just rest and they all come back

What else do you have in your party beside a sorceress?

The leader is a barbarian human, then a human paladin, a bard (i love it when he sings tra la la la), a dwarf fighter, an elf ranger (woman) and the sorcerress

Please help. I am in a cave and i killed 2 dragons and 2 wyerins or something.
At the end of the cave is a whole and i use somme rope to gett down. The game exit to windows every timme when i want to enter the whole. An error appear.
Why? Is there any cheat or something to use to enter the next stage? Or a save gamme send by another player who pass the cave whould help? I am really down man!!

First of all, make sure that you have the latest patch installed.
If that doesn't help, I recommend resintalling the whole game and reload your own saved game. If this has still no effect, then get a save from someone and load that one with your chars (I've just checked but unfortunately couldn't find a save from that area )

thanks Bryn (now i am drunk , scuze me). i already start a new gamme but the gamme exit to windows when i want to enter the whole. ya now.

I have reinstalling the gamme and is not working. The patch is istall 2, and is not working. Only a save gamme could help me now. Whatt 2 do now man?

O ye! Whatt is tha Arcane Spell Failure. I wanted to cast a spell but 3 times fell. It says "Arcane spell failure" (just like in Neverwinter Nights). Even the armors show me 30%, 40% arcane spell or something like that. (i have started to play Neverwinter until i can fix IWD 2). I'ma real newbie right?

Here's the deal with Arcane spell failure:

Every sort of armour in the game (with 1 exception late in the game) has an Arcane Failure %. This means that if you have an Arcane spell caster wearing this armour, this is the % chance that any spell they cast will immediately fail. Generally speaking the heavier the armour the greater the % failure. Leather Armour has 10%, Studded Leather has 15% and most Platemail has about 40% I think. Shields are the same.

The total % failure chance of your character can be reduced by taking the Armoured Arcana Feats. Each time you take one (you can take this upto 3 times) it will drop your total chance of failure by 5%. With all 3 feats you can wear studded leather and still cast sucessfully every time, but add a shield and you will start to get failures depending on the shield you use.

Bottom line: Don't wear armour with your arcane spell casters. Use Robes, Rings, Amulets and Bracers to boost your AC, or the 1st level Wizard/Sorc spell Shield. This gives you +7 Armour with no chance of failure.

i have download portraits from a web site for Icewind Dale. The portraits can be inserted in the gamme?

Sure! Create a dirctory called "portraits" in the game dir, and place them there. Then customize your character, and choose "Custom" in the Appereance window. (I presume the files are already named correctly and their resolutions are OK).
