Problems with Mods

I'm having a problem with some (not all) of my mods: they don't show up! I've got Real Signposts, Better Bodies, and the Laura Craft mods running, but even though I've checked them on the Data Files screen, a couple of Rhedd's Heads and Emma's better heads mods don't seem to work--I haven't seen ANY new and improved faces in the game. Are you stuck with an NPC's face once you've seen them, or am I missing something that I need to do to get the improved heads to show up?
Thanks.

Yes - those mods need new textures, meshes and so on. If you are on Windoes XP install them again like this: - Extract the entire contents of the .zip/.rar file they came with to the desktop. You will likely have folders called 'meshes', 'textures', 'icons' there as well as the plugin file itself and the readme. Now open up my computer and follow it through the C drive and program files until you get to:
Besthesda Softworks/Morrowind/Data Files. Now drag each folder and the plugin file into the window (data files). It should say 'there is already a folder called textures in this folder blah blah' Just say yes to all. This will not overrwrite your exisiting files, but merge the contents of the two 'texture folders'. Repeat for all your mods - do NOT extract the second one before you have finished dragging all the folders from the first one, and so on.
Now check the boxes. It should work.
Good luck.

Problems with Mods--still!
Okay, I've copied over the files, and still no luck. What else could be wrong?

I sometimes experience something similar, but even weirder : amongst others I run a mod that establishes a shipping connection between Seyda Neen and several other coastal towns. The fun thing is, sometimes the mod is activated and sometimes it isn´t ! Of course, I didn´t change anything in the Data Files. Somebody care to explain that ?

I thought you have to start a new caracter to see the new faces from Rhedds Heads. You did this, or did you just simply loaded an old save game?

You need to move to a new cell, then save, then reload that saved game.

I DID in fact simply add Rhedd's heads to an existing game. I think I've moved to several different cells and saved since I added the mods--it hasn't interrupted play, so I've just kept going. ???? I'm also getting an error message that seems to be connected to the Real Signposts mod: it can't find everything it needs. Strange, since it seems to be running correctly (I've seen the signs, and they work!) Could this somehow be affecting the loading of other mods? Side question: can you modify an existing mod in the editor?
Thanks--again!

You said you saved after moving to another cell. Did you load the saved game, afterwards, before continuing play? I don't mean to be insistent, but this is the point I was trying to make. The complete series of actions will often clear out problems with mods that have been corrected, but aren't showing up.

Y'know, I don't know if I've done that EXACT sequence of events. I will do exactly that and see what happens....

Try reload... those plugins.. reinstall morrowind start new game..rhedd heads with Better heads might create conflict.. so use better heads only..
Do you have winzip?
then you can extract files to their right places..

Surrender
** Sigh.** I give up. I reloaded the mods, moved to a new cell and saved, and nothing. Oh well, I can still play. Thanks for all suggestions, everyone.

Load the game.
Move to a new cell.
Save the game.
Reload the game.
The last is important. Don't simply go on playing after you make the saved game.
