Suddenly the game came out today instead of tomorrow.
So picked it up this afternoon, and have been playing non-stop.
Spend an hour thinking of what character i wanted to play, and dicided to play a Ventrue named Viktor. (Got to love Bill Nighy / Underworld)
This brings me to the first bad point of the game, chracter creation, you have lot's of skills, but you cant customize your looks. Every male Ventrue that you create will look the same. No a very big letdown, but still.
You start the game in a safehouse with a fridge with some blood in it, and a pc with some e-mails waiting for you. (one of them offered me penis enlargement
, spam in videogames, you got to love it).
I need to find Mercutio (who isnt hard to find, cause he leaves a trail of blood from your frontdoor to his body, i'll bet he had a big dinner that day, cause no body contains that much blood).
But before i went to him, i decided i needed a little snack.
As a ventrue i'm quite picky, so only the upperclass people will do.
To my luck some guy's car broke down, using my domination skills he suddenly had the urge to walk into a dark alley. *Lunch!*
After that i think i went walking around for an hour.
The world is large (I realy miss a permanent map, not jsut the small maps in busstop's or in the sewers) but in the same time that gives a good feeling to the game.
The world, and the people look great, but they didnt use the source engine optimal. I havent played HalfLife2, but heared alot of things about it. But in this game, i'd sooner break my baseballbat then the microwave i'm hitting. Also when you beat people who are on an uneven surface (stairs, table) they fall down realy weird (stiff).
Combat works fine for me (no pausing, sorry fable), but i havent seen alot of it.
I will post again once i have done some quests, and played a little more.
But my first impressions are very very promissing.
As for fable's questions:
1. I'm not sure jet, but i have a feeling it will
2. Sorry no pausing, but you dont need (alot) of skill to use combat if you can play Diablo2 you can play this, but there are also more then 2 ways to avoid it (atleast in the tutorial and the first quest)
