Settle down in:

As a Bhaalspawn, you've travelled far and visited quite a few towns and cities. Where would you like to hang your cloak and settle down? Shops and taverns are important, but so are ambiance, surroundings and people.

Personally, I'd like to live in Beregost. There's hardly any violence (not counting Merl and the occassional huge spider), the atmosphere is nice and quiet but there are still four taverns to choose from on a saturdaynight. Plus, there's a good smith around, should I feel the need to go 'venturing again.

Guess what I voted. :p

In all seriousness, of all the places I've visited in BG, I think the one I choose is the most beautiful one.

my wife and I have had this conversation at least a dozen times... it's Beregost for us. We'd have to open up some sort of training school on the outskirts of town, though -- she'd train mages and I'd train fighters, and we'd keep Thunderhammer plenty busy but plenty happy.

Trademeet. A small city but it has everything. A temple, a tavern, a blacksmith, a brothel and tons of merchants where I can spend all my adventuring loot! (well besides spending my money in the brothel tent :) ) But, I like the small city feel where I can come and go in peace without getting bothered by the authorities.

Same here. My PC would live inside or near Trademeet, as it (seems) to be a calm place.

Living in the Ranger Cabin in Umar Hills could be cool too.

Athkatla for me. I prefer big cities. Lots of shopping. And nice restaurants as well.

Cheers,

I chose Athkatla, I live in London and I can't really imagine not living in a city.

However, I would prefer somewhere like Sigil, within my Planer sphere, doing some cross dimensional ownage.

Or perhaps De'Nairse Keep, that would be sweet, your own castle!

However, first time I played, I didn't let myself "settle down".

Brynnlaw for me. I love living by the ocean, it's only 100m from me home now. Brynnlaw might have it's pirates and asylums, but i could live with that, being lawful evil and all. The place also seems a little laid back and no stress. And if i ever ran low on money i could just take up piracy

Either Nashkel or Suldanesselar. I prefer small towns like Nashkel, and Suldanesselar seems really peaceful, up in the trees and all.

Ust'Natha... nothing like fighting for your life and keeping up a constant state of paranoia to help you appreciate life. XD

None of the above

Being Danish, viking reenactor etc I would probably go further north to live up near the coast north of Waterdeep, or around Sundabar- Silverymoon etc. Possibly move to Cormyr as well. Hard to decide, but in the north somewhere.
Keep the De'Arnise keep of course, one owe the people that much, have that as a summer residence with others in the Umar Hills, Beregost and Baldur's Gate.
Question is of course what the locals would say to such a powerful individual living among them...
