Hi everyone. I wrote a book that would make a great RPG. Anyone interested in creating a Game from my book here's an opportunity:

I independently published the book, Shaturanga, in October of 2003, and I want to promote awareness of it by having it developed into a game. Just the title, a few characters, and the setting are all that I want included from the novel. The rest is up to your creative genius.

The developer keeps RPG rights and any profits off the game. I will not be involved in the making of the game unless asked, nor do I want any credit for it.

Contact me if this sounds like a project you can do in a reasonable amount of time (we can talk about that).

I have just a suggestion for you as I used to be part of a group intent on making video games which fell apart. I was to write the storyline and make notes on the characters, enemies, abilities, equipment and what not. If your providing the background for it, I'd say write your own storyline and everything how you would want it to show to those who might be interested in doing the project unless you plan on using the novel you wrote as a basis, or bringing in someone else to write everything for you in the team.

As having a friend who made a game by himself, a project which took four years of work, your going to need a team if you plan on making a game anywhere near up to par in quality as what is out there today. One writer, two or three programmers and most likely 8 or more graphics artists. Depending on the direction involved in what manner of gameplay which is involved and what not, most RPG video games take major companies with teams 2-4 times the size I mentioned 2-3 years to produce a game.

I by no means mean to discourage or offend, I read the background on your novel and it seems very interesting and I'm actually intending on picking up a copy, and I imagine a game based on your story would be entertaining if done right. I've just been in the situation where money was invested, along with time and effort on attempting to make a game, and everything happened to fall apart as, if you go into a project spanning that amount of time, with the amount of work involved with no pay along the way you end up pushing it aside in order to go to work to earn a living instead. You'll need some very dedicated people to produce a quality game. If you find such people though, good luck to you and them.

I think you'll have better luck if you actually contact gamecompanies instead of meerly posting on a gamediscussion forum
