different story paths?

-Spoiler Warning?-
I've beaten the game as a Gangrel, gone about half way as a Brujah, and about half way (retrieve sarcophacus from mansion) as a Tremere. This may sound dumb, but all three stories are about the same?
When I was a Gangrel, I just followed LeCroix's tasks without question until the end when he wanted the key - i refused and pissed everyone off. As a Brujah, I was rude to LeCroix the whole time - just made him a jerk, but i still had to do his chores. I kissed the Anarchs butt, but they didn't give me anything (except 2 quests) more than the first time.
Now I'm playing as a Tremere, using persuasion and flattery everywhere possible - but it's still the same damn story. Isn't there supposed to be different story lines. Do other people besides LeCroix ask for the sarcophacus and key? Or is that the only story line to follow (his quests)? Is there a point where I don't have to follow him anymore and can do someone else's bidding?
I remember getting a downtown apartment the first time, but can't remember when LeCroix gave it to me... I thought it was before the sarcophacus retrieval. I've been nothing but nice to LeCroix, so where's my uptown apartment? I've heard that the Tremere Regent gives an apartment away (I assume to Tremeres only) - he hasn't offered jack either.
I guess my question is, does anyone know where/how the story line changes depending on your actions/answers/clan? I know that's vague, but i'm concerned more about the important changes to story - or are there no real changes.
