Suggestions please on how to beat this guy. He starts off by smacking me with a spell of which I know not what, and then proceeds to beat the hell out of me. I've buffed myself up with potions and spells and he still gets the better of me. You've beaten him so how do you do it???

What spell are you referring to? I don't recall what you suggest happening to me. What were the spell's effects?

i believe he means the effects the sword has, it drains your str rather quickly to 0 or atleast so low you can't move. having magic res of 100% can counter that..

use boots of speed, and an item with CE bound longbow, and run backwards while shooting him with arrows, he should go down rather easily if you have about 80-110 marksmanship.. only character i've been able to take him out face to face was a lvl 70 breton with cuirass of saviours hide=110%mag res, and a str 235(from equipment not potions) among other things..

Ummm, I'm not sure which guy you're talking about, however I have completed ALL the quests in tribunal, so if someone could provide me with the quest in which this happens, I'd be happy to help you out

Fable - Sorry don't know what spell it is, but as suggested by Locke Da"averan, I think it must be coming from his sword when he strikes me and does so much damage.

This one is referred to as one of the tougher fights in Tribunal but I beat him extremely easy - and by accident.
After the fight started I quickly found I couldn't beat him - my pc isn't much of a fighter - so I ran and jumped over the fence of the balcony of the Winged Gaur. From there I decided to feed him a few arrows until he would reach me. But he didn't. He kept trying to run through the fence, which wouldn't budge. My marksman skill is quite high and a few arrows later he was very much dead. I should've reloaded but I forgot.

well... i remember when i fought this guy with my Imperial (i beat him with my dunmer,but i forgot how i did that [it was a long time ago]) i beat him by doing the following:
when he lowers your strength with his sword, use almalexia's light (you should of gotten it by now[it's a spell you get by doing her quests]) spell, then hack him with the BiPolar blade so he freezes (BiPolar effect[it has calm humanoid enchanted on it]) and then just kick his ***

To get the BiPolar Blade, you must get Marena Glinith (I think that was her name) to get together with the Trader of The Great Bazaar. For more info check the search function located at your tool bar

A powerful paralyze spell (I used 20 seconds on target), perhaps combined with drain magicka resistance (does that exist?) will also do the job

There is a lower magic resistance spell, that should work out just fine...

I beaten him quite easly but i had full Daedric armor, daedric daikatana and was lvl26. but if ur having trouble with his spell maybe u can use reflect (if u have that spell or on some item)

Gaenor was much harder. After him, Salas Valor was not much more than just clicking the mouse as fast as possible.
