Yesterday went back to role up a new Character based on a p&p character i used to have - Human Ranger dueled to mage.
i finished the irenicus dungeon before i remebered that Rnager mage is not valid in BG2
so my question is (and this may have been discussed before but not scince iv'e been here) if all multi/duels were valid which classes would you like to play, which would be most fun and which most powerful
I would like to see a ranger mage of some sort because I realy enjoyed my original one and i would like to be able to play a ranger bard because the idea intregs me from a roleplaying perspective.
i cant realy see a monk dueling though it would be powerful.
anyway your thoughts?

Anything -> Sorcerer
Think about a Monk/Sorcerer. Can you say overpowered? And, I wonder if a Mage/Sorcerer would work. The ultimate spellcaster right there.

The two most rivaling classes together as one! It will be possible in NWN...

Without question: anything dueled to sorcerer. I can think about a barbarian/sorcerer (best tank) or a cleric(kit)/sorcerer (best caster). The (dual) monk/sorcerer is not an option, as a low level monk is not strong enough.

In BG2, monk/sorcerer isn't an option, but think about ToB. You have 8 million xp (I think) to work with. On top of that, the quests are going to give more experience than the BG2 ones so it won't take as much time either.

Thinking about TOB, it would be really nice to triple-class. What about a Barbarian/Cleric(kit)/Sorcerer (9/10/28?)?

Multiclass monk Sorceror would be cool.
100 percent magic resistant many many attacks per round and stoneskinned and mirror imaged. You go in with a greater malison and then turn on quivering palm. Or maybe let your simulacrum do it.

Sorceror/Kensai/Druid 12/11/12
Spells: Mage: 5/5/4/3/2
Spells: Druid:??? (I think has a lvl 5/6 spell)
Robe of Vecna
Ring of Gaxx
Ring of Wiardry
Vhaillor's Helm/Helm of Brilliance (switch)
Cloak of Mirroring
Boots of Speed
Bracers of Defense AC3
In directg combat: Celestial Fury, Dakkon Zerth's Blade
Before direct combat: staff of Magi
Wand of Monster Summoning
Wand of lightning
Rod of resurrection
Let's see what his "average fight" would look like:
Main Char: stoneskin, Mirror Image, Prot. from Fire, Resist Fire/Cold, MR, Animate Dead, Animal Summoning (Rod), Haste.
Vhailor's Helm: Simulacrum
Simulacrum:scroll of spell sequencer (skull trap*3)=36d6 damage (save for half)
Main Char: same - thats 72d6 damage total (save for half)
Simulacrum: Skull Trap/Confusion/Horror/Domination
Main Char: Use Helm of Brilliance's Fireball/Sunray/Prismatic Spray (at least 84d6 damage now)
Simulacrum: SUmmon Fire elemental
Main Char: True Sight/Slay living/Other spell
Main: charges in with Celestial Fury/Dakkon Zerth's, 5 proficiency points in Katana (oops, did I forget to mention that? That's circa 20damage/attack...)
Simulacrum: casts Healing Spells/Rod of resurrection/Something else...
DO YOU FEEL LUCKY, PUNK?!?!? DO YA?!?!?

Oh, I also forgot the Simulacrum is free to cast away his Fireball/Lightning and Spell Trap...

Try this:
Jester dualled to any thief.
Now you can confuse your enemies and hide in shadows without needing invisibility (though it doesn't hurt
).
What about a Jester/Swashbuckler for a real cavorting, cartwheeling idiot? No need for backstab when your mighty sorcerers are confused and frying themselves with their own fireballs
