off hand weapons

ok so maybe this has been posted before i dont know , but i dont feel like routing through 1300 posts , or im just lazy , you pick

so , which is the best off hand weapons? ive been reading through the manual and its better to have 'light' weapons right... so which is the best 'light' weapon? what are all the 'light weapons?'

flail? short sword? help me :D

it depends on your PC-build - but for a fighter I would say:


...best off-hand weapon is solaufein's moonblade from the BG2 bonus merchant!


...best "regular" one is the golden heart of.... - you can buy in Targos (HOF-mode)


best "normal-mode" off-hand weapon is the short sword of brilliance +5 you get for mastering the battlesquare



...but there are many other good off-hand weapons giving you diverse stat boni, extra attacks or other magical effects - from my point of view these effects are more important then just the damage from one additional attack !

well ive made a ranger/rouge type to test out some dual weilding backstabbing , just gonna dump on her a long sword n short sword off hand

I believe they are referring to any weapon that falls into the small blade category (i.e. short sword, dagger, etc.) As far as the best, it's more a personal preference. Some will put a large sword in the off-hand even though they incur a penalty the advantages the sword offers offsets the penalty.
