Changing Protagonists to get all Strongholds

Hi All:
I'm playing BG2 in multiplayer mode with a custom built party. I wanted to see if I could do all the class quests and obtain all the strongholds this way. It SEEMS to be working so far. I have cleared de'Arnise keep with my fighter as the protagonist and he's gotten the keep, and then I switched my protagonist to my ranger and now I've cleared Umar Hills, but I haven't been approached by the druid spirit or the boy Donovan(?) about the continuing problems in the Umar Hills. Do I just need to wait a while longer for them to approach/find me? or have I screwed it up and I can't get the ranger cabin (and other strongholds) now? I don't want to embark on any more "stronghold" quests (ie: planar sphere) until I'm sure I've completed the last one. If I DO need to just wait, I'm trying to figure out what to do w/o working on any of the stronghold quests.
What I REALLY want is to get the ranger cabin, then change to my mage as the protagonist and claim the planar sphere so I can have the apprentices make me a ring of wizardry.
A side note that's odd, whenever I return to the de'Arnise keep, the Major Domo will only speak to my ranger now, not my fighter who was the PC that accepted the offer to run the keep
I'm assuming it's because he's the protagonist now.

There's a flag somewhere that specifies whether you have a stronghold or not - take a look under the globals in SK and you should find it. As long as that's set, you're not going to be offered another stronghold.
Or you can just install Multiple Strongholds from the Ease-of-Use mod ... although I don't know that this will help you now - you probably needed it installed when you accepted the Keep.
As for as the Ranger one - it's already too late. The mayor offers it to you when you talk to him after completing Umar Hills. It sounds like you've already done that, which means you've already missed out on the stronghold.

Globals?
take a look under the globals in SK and you should find it.
Where? I don't see a globals folder in my BG2 Folder.
If anything, I'd like to switch the stronghold to the planar sphere so I can get the ring of wizardry. or install the mod

Strongholds are odd, don't mess with them, it can really ruin your game. You want the ring of Wizardry?
then look at this:
http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/showt ... ua+console
that will have it somewhere.

It's not a folder ... SK stands for
Shadow Keeper. If you install it, and use it to open your saved game, you'll see a global variables tab - that's what I was referring to.
However, I took a look at mine, and there really isn't a clear 'HasStronghold' variable. Only possibility I see is a variable called 'Acceptance' ... but that could very well be for something else, so you're probably best following Me0w's advice and leaving well enough alone ...

Unless you have the ease of Use Mod installed I believe you can only have one stronghold. The mod lets have the oppurtunity for more if you so choose. I am using it now on my second run through the game and it a chore. You have to follow the walkthough or you will probably lose one or another. Sorry if I wasted your time, I don't know how multi=player mod works. Woooo carefull with that axe Eugene.

Thanks
Yeah, you're probably right. I just hate cheating like "creating" items. But I really wanted the ring of wizardry for my mage and being the protagonist as my mage fit his background story better than my fighters. Oh well. Thanks anyway

more spoilers - new question!
Hello btw.
This thread is pretty old, i haven't seen any other one regarding this one issue of multistrongholding.
I'm pretty much only playing MP and i happend to have more then 1 Strongholds.
I'm playing MP atm and this is although what my question's gonna be about, so i'll ask here, instead of starting a new thread.
I've been searching for a similar post, but didn't find an answer to my question, so here it is:
I'm finishing the Planar Sphere, i refused to take Lavok outside, he replied with the 'it's alright' dialog, but then, surprisingly he said 'you've magic power?'
[i'm not quoting for those who've not noticed yet] and handed my the sphere as stronghold. He died, i got out, the Solmarians, asked me for help, i went to the exit, Teos forced me to join. Everything ok. I didn't get 45500 Xp.
I'm trying different path by reloading at some points, so i did then.
I granted Lavoks wish, took him outside, he thanked me, he died, i got 45500 Xp, but no Stronghold. I got in, the Solmarians left, and i was unsatisfied.
I want the Xp and the Stronghold, or isn't it possible and the script forces a choice about that?
Btw, i imported a Sorcerer as Protagonist, after i got the Arnise Hold with a Fighter[/Something] i still have it, and i got the Mage Stronghold too, tho i don't have it atm.
So in MP it's possible to own multiple Strongholds.
I'll repeat my question: Is it a Scripted Choice between Xp/Magestronghold or how can i get both?
Since actually my Char is Good, and - well the Chars Chaotic Evil, but that doesn't change it for me, let me justify it by declaring that group as a unit as 'Neutral'. Not that it matters.

Your stronghold is based upon the class of your protagonist.
In order to obtain multiple strongholds you will need to install a mod.
Although I do not know how the program handles multi-classed protagonists but I am sure someone here can answer that question. For example, will a Fighter/Mage be able to get both the De'Arnise Hold and the Planar Sphere or just one of them (and which one)?

You can be "offered" both, but you can only have one - the first one you accept.
For example, if you had a fighter/thief, you could run through the keep and the guild, complete all the parts up to the final "all right, I'm done" conversation with the person that asked you for help. Up to that point, either one are available to you to complete first and accept as a stronghold. They are mutually exclusive, though, without a mod (As stated above) - once you choose one, the other can't also be chosen.

By taking advantages of glitches it's possible to have more than one stronghold. As for multiclasses I seem to remember once having both the mage stronghold and the thief one at the same time, my memories still a little fuzzy though.

if you have a multiclass character you can get BOTH strongholds. I had a fighter/druid as my main character and got both D'Arnise and the druid one (i dont know its name in english...)

Not true?
As i stated: I already got both Strongholds...it's just about the quest ending.
I don't see any post replying to my question, did you read just the openingthread? Should i start a new one in order to get more attention and an answer? Btw. I didn't install anymods, used any cheats etc. so i guess u can handle to get more Strongholds in Multiplayer.
