over frequency help plx

just installed the game and when i run it the monitor turns black saing over frequency H:65.8 kHz Y:15.6 Hz. I tried runing the game in safe mode and same thing........can some1 help me plx

Hmm.. so u can't get to the Menu with Load Game, New Game etc?

It sounds like you're overriding the game's control of frequency. First, try going into your advanced display options, and under the monitor tab, see if you're trying to run frequencies that your monitor doesn't support.
And then... well, for the life of my I can't remember where the option is to allow or restrict overriding individual program frequncies. By any chance, are you using some kind of external program to alter frequency? You wouldn't happen to be a hardcore CSer would you?

thats right i cant get to the menu with start new game load game.................i tried it at 75 Hz refresh rate then 85 then 100 same effect.
Ruds : actually i installed it for a friend of mine so i wouldnt know if he was using such a tool ill have to ask. on my pc and another friends of mine it works perfectly on 75 Hz. I would be very happy if u could remember that override menu plx.
Could it be cause the monitor doesnt support the frequency needed to play the game ??? (the one not working is a liquid crystal based monitor, the ones on which the game works is a flat screen and a normal 21 " monitor)
