soloing for the first time

Hello I haven't been here for a few years but I've decided to solo the game and i need some advice. I'm a FMT and i've done a few quests so far: copper coronet, circus tent, exposed Maevar, taken over guild, paid Gaylen 15,000, etc.

the next ones i want to do are, umar hills, trademeet, har dalis, Nalia, windspear hils.

I think i need to get the boots of speed for some of the tougher areas( plus i hate wasting spell slots on haste). I know renal Bloodscalp has them. If i kill him and the rest of the shadow thieves what will happen? Will it messup my deal with Gaylen? or will it mess up my guild? What about Aran Lineval, how does he figure in? I know he has the amulet of power. should i talk to him first to get it or just kill him with all of the rest of the shadow thieves?

If I don't want to kill Valgar or let him into my party, can I bring him to justice then free him after killing Tolgerias? By the way how do you bring him to justice?

Thanks for your help, I'll be out of town for about a week if you ask any questions, so I'll get back to you then, thanks

Do Haer'Dalis quest, you get boots of speed from that, however you can't kill Renal At the moment.

One point I'd best bring up, the boots of speed don't actually increase your attack speed, merely your movement unless you get the patch, which corrects it somewhat.

They are boots of speed and not boots of haste

Go to the trouble of killing the lich in the Crooked Crane (gates district) and get the daystar earlier (very easy) and once you're able to get the boots of speed you can defeat the High Rune in the Bridge district easy as well.

(I did it with a level 11 pure solo Sorceror)

edit: but at low levels you will need a scroll of magic protection

thanks, I'll do Haer Dalis next, I'm not worried about attack speed, just need foot speed to run from large groups of enemies esp if I hadn't had time to cast protective spells.

So it's impossible to kill Renal at this point?

Any advice on Valgar?

Valygar... you can either kill and use his blood to open the portal or have him temporarily in your party just for one quest and dump him.
Good Luck soloing is fun though no character interaction is kinda a drag.
