This is my second time through the game. I am having trouble with the Metalhead Industries part of his quest. I am Malk and have level 4 Obfuscate. I went through it twice with Obfuscate on, was never seen, ran the schrecknet program and got a message calling me a noob and that he would never work with me again. The third reload, I thought, maybe the game is bugged for obfuscate. So I just did it with sneak. Again, was not seen and got same message. Anyone know what the deal is?

I didn't have obfuscate and much lower sneak the first time playing, and had no problems.

Please help - I've done this like 10 times. I never even get a hey who's there from any of the guys in Metalhead. Yet every time I try to run the schrecknet program, it says I failed.

Did you open the safe and take the stuff too? U have to make it look like a burglary...

Yeah, I did that. My problem is that when I try to run the schrecknet program, I get a message from Mitnick - shrecknet disconnecting. Suxors! Noob, I'll never work with you again! or something like that.

I believe this is definitely bugged. I have tried it at least 20 times, done it perfectly with level 4 obfuscate, and done it perfectly with level 6 sneak. Either way, I get the same message. So - does anyone know the cheat code to finish this part of the quest?

Metalhead? That's in hollywood, right? You don't HAVE to rob the safe, you'll need to do that on the next Mitnick mission.

Let's see, you come in, go to the small room, crack the computer and open the door to the main room, go upstairs and crack the second computer, all without being seen and without KILLING ANYONE? If so, you could try to do it without obfuscate. It's tough as hell, but it's doable (my gangrel went through hell, but eventually made it)

it could "possibly* be a timer thing.. i did the connections from hub to hub without doing any other quests in between. mitnick said something about being short of time and stuff when he sent the email for the metalhead hub

I did Kamikaze Zen after finishing the entire Chinatown, so I doubt it's a timer thing. If it is, then AFAIK it's the only timed quest in the game....

there's the fun zombie slaughter fest in the cemetery that's a fun timed quest, but the mitnick quest is probably not timed

It sounds like your save is somehow corrupted (maybe)... try reloading from an earlier save and see if that works.

I tried reloading from an earlier save before.

Maybe it's the timer thing - the email does say to do it right away - but IIRC, I did.

I tried one last time with a cheat - using notarget. Still, the same message - so I don't think that it's failing because I've been seen. I mean, with level 4 obfuscate - unless I bump into someone only the bosses can see me! Also, the first time I played the game, I did not have obfuscate, and I had like only a level 2 sneak, and I was able to complete it. So, I think there's nothing I can do about it, and I've given up. I've tried everything, haven't I?

I don't think it's a timer thing as I did the metalhead thing after the finishing China town.

Has to be bugged, or you forgot some tiny thing, but as it's your second time round, probably not.

I had the same issue, and it was NOT a bug.

It's basically because you were seen at the theater AFTER planting the cam and enabling the net security.

For me, it was on my way out, just before I entered the door to the boiler room.

I suggest using the elevated walkway to go from the corridor w/ the coputer room to the boiler room w/ the sewer exit.

i´m not sure if it will help, but I never hacked the first computer to open office door! u can break the glass of the office while being crouched and noone will notice anything.... . I played the game with every clan except nosferatu and never had problems with metalhead ind. like you.

being seen

I think I was seen after connecting in the theatre and had the same problem - went back and re-did the theatre quest - trance is particularly useful for the schrecknet BTW - can be used at the theatre, metalhead and zen to good effect.

Dunno never played nosferatu but to the first question, i think u were caught leaving the theatre for sure but u were just so happy to get it done that u probably didnt see aquest update sayin ur quest had failed. but then how the hell did u get the keys to metalhead industries if u had failed the quest in the theatre section? Hmmmmmm.............. this is confusing.
