Console freeze problem

Greets all

I'm in the late part of the game, having bypassed the irritating St.Leopold's bug thanks to advice found in these forums

However, I've managed to miss the Tal'mahe'Ra blade during the hotel raid and wanting to experiment with that particular weapon, I decided to re-employ the uses of the console.

To my dissapointment, although after I input the proper command ie. "give item_w_occultblade" I do get the notification that I got the blade, upon exiting the console (either by hitting Esc or clicking on the X mark in the console screen) my game freezes.

I've tried to move, enter combat, use disciplines etc, all to no avail.

I'm running Win XP if that's any help.

Pls assist

open the console again, and type: chareditor
this should take you to your charactersheet, from there exit, and then the game should work again.

Alternate solution: with your game loaded, hit escape so that you go to the first level of menu's (Continue--Load Game--Etc), then open the console, do what you want, close the console and return to your game. No lockups that way.

Thanks to all imput.

I actually got round my problem by hitting tilde instead of Esc. And yes, no more freezes

Finishing game atm, kudos to Troika - one of the best games I delved in (could do with less bugs though)

Anxiously waiting for some form of sequel!

PS: Might replay it with a different char than my Gangrel, Tremere or Malkavian have piqued my interest
