Second run started and a few questions... again

I have just finished SoA with an evil aligned party and am now playing the opposite for a different experience while I wait for that damn copy of ToB that I ordered to arrive to my games shop(!!! 
).
I got some good help and advice from this forum regarding my first party and their setup so I will try to do the same for this new one if it's ok.
I'm playing a sorcerer, and have trouble choosing npc:s. First time through I used Korgan, Viconia, Jan and Edwin. This time I'm thinking of using something like this:
Me - Sorcerer
Keldorn
Valygar
Jan
and two of the following:
Anomen, Jaheira, Haer Daelis, Mazzy, Minsc or Aeri
Right now I'm in the copper coronet so I feel it would be a good idea to know what npc:s to pick up now while they are low lvl. Don't want to lose my chance of deceiding there skill distribution.
As it feels now it's either Jaheira OR Anomen and then one of the others. Is Anomen any good as a melee fighter(Mace of Distruption?) with that low dex and only 7 lvls in fighter? I have planned that Keldorn will use the gauntlets of dex so Anomen would be stuck on 0 bonus to AC.
I checked a walktrough to get some tips regarding him and according to that he gets +4 wisdom after a while. Do he get extra priest spells right away then when his wis goes up or only from that point on? What I mean is, would it be best to wait to press "level up" until I have 17 wisdom so I get maximum amount of spells?
If I deceide to go with Jaheira I'm thinking it could be a good idea to try to get 5+ in spears since none of the other chars will use that weapon type(Valygar will dual wielde).
For the last slot I'm very tempted to go with Haer Daelis since his dual wielding would let me get all the different weapons to use. I need someone that uses flails for example. However I played through my first time as a blade and I got kinda bored with the class in the end to be honest.
So suggestions are welcome if someone have time and energy. Please
