Why can't I equip him with this?

IIRC the cirklet can only be used by a good person and as far as I know Jolee is pretty neutral

Well it's restricted to light side, and that's what Jolee is.

Thanks for the welcome. This is my first rpg - I'm on my second time through, and planning for the third.

I'm pretty sure Jolee is neutral (he says so himself) and that's why he can't use it. Just look at his alignment slider and the color of the clouds behind his paper doll, and you'll see.

Okay. Though if he really is neutral, shouldn't auto level up give him a mix of light and dark powers?

I don't know, I never auto-level up. And I advise you not to do also, the game doesn't know what you want with your characters.

No Jolee is definately neutral, thats why you can't give him anything restricted to lightside characters. It's also why he's the only one who can effectively use both light and dark force powers because the penalties for each are minimised. Try Juhani or Bastilla (before she goes bad)

Mind you i'm saying that you can't equip old grumpy with the circlet because he's neutral but I'm only assuming that's the case as I don't have the add on from xbox live. I think I'm about right though. He's not light or dark, just grey.

Jolee is neutral and there for cannot use the Circlet of Saresh or the Solari Crystal. Check the feedback screen and it will show you that Jolee has neither Force point increase or decrease for using light or dark powers.

i can use darkside specific, and lightside specific items when im playing neutral. i can equip almost anything

That's because you can't be at "0". Jolee -is- at 0, so he's perfectly neutral!
