ok, just a question. admitedly, i'm not too far into the game, but is the whole game supposed to take place in one night? i've just made it downtown from santa monica, but there has been no sign that nighttime is anything but permanent...

The game does take place over several days, maybe even a few weeks. There is no daytime, though one time it comes close near the end. I think every major quest counts as one day/night.

hmmm. ok, thanks. i think they should make that clearer somehow. maybe give you a sleeping cutscene or something. although i doubt taht would be too thrilling to watch...

Well, for one thing , the dates on your emails are a giveaway. Actually, Santa Monica itself takes nearly a week. The game assumes we are covering only the more interesting parts of our vampire's night life, and frankly, I find that to be a good thing....

You can also listen to the radio/watch tv to know a new night has started

In the rules for V:TM, ALL vampires MUST "sleep" in the daytime. Hence, your nocturnal ventures. Vampires with greater Humanity ratings can awake in the daytime under certain dire situations (like you "sense" a hunter attempting to torch your haven and the like). Even then, the rolls you have to make makes the possibility of doing so only barely likely... and it gest worse as the vampire gets older. I assume that the game simply skips your inactivity.

I suppose it is a good thing, or perhaps bad, since otherwise, a brand new vampire having learned the haven of the Prince can quite easily destroy him in the daytime...

Thats what gouls are for, doing the daytime deeds and protecting their "master"
