Battling Causes Crash

Hey,
This is a weird glitch I have. It started during the "Going the Way of the Kings" quest when I entered the house through the second floor, the baddie busts through the door as just as I swing my axe or shoot at it or it simply attacks me, the game freezes then exits to desktop. I tried the notarget cheat to get by that area, but when you get to the basement and have to fight the enemy there (trying to avoid spoilers here) it still crashes.
The wierd thing is this...
I started a new game. Soon after I go into the clinic and kill both the guards. I think its all fixed. Wrong. I go to do the Get the Astrolite thing for Mercutio, but when I try to fight the dealer, it does the same thing and crashes.
Anyone else getting this?
