I seem unable to beat Baram even though I am certainly a higher level than I ordinarily would be facing him.

I'm a R3 W13 and he seems to have permanent spell absorbtion as his skill. I can cast dispel until the cows come home and he will still absorb the spells I cast at him.

My familiar lasts a short time and me just a bit longer

And to make it worse, I cannot get Daelan to help out since I can't leave Luskan and he isn't in Luskan (unless there's some super secret place he hangs?)

Help!

maybe you should ignore baram when he first shows up, and check out the rest of the level he is on...

I'll take the hint and appreciate it even though he hits me at the door and hits hard and fast. And even though I've done the entire level except behind the door he comes from.

So I'll go try to push past him and see what's what there.
