Maybe ....

I'm sorry but that is proberly the best answer I can give you.
I've not played all the way through Fallout 2 on my WinXP manchine, but I've installed it and played someways with - what seems to be - no problems, so it is possible.
I also played Fallout 1 but that gave me some graphics glitches I can't remember if where there before (on Win98).

I've played all the way on windows xp and I encountered only a few already known bugs, so no real problem with that.

Well - just because somebody can play an old game on WinXP dosen't mean everybody can :) - Which is why my "maybe" answer.
WinXP is "funny" that way

All right Xan, I guess you're right. What I meant was that it is possible to play it on winxp.

In a bout of nostalgia, I've ordered PS:T and FO1&2 on Amazon rather recently, and they're arriving soon. I never had a chance to play these games (although I've watched pieces of PS:T played @ a friend's house) and so when they arrive, I'll install them and let you know how they run (I'm running XP too). However, Xandy's right, XP is funny in that some machines running XP can run just about any old-timer software, while others just spit back that they hate you and give you all kinds of funny graphical glitches. It depends on the hardware I guess.

It runs on my WinXP Professional box, as well as my WinXP Home laptop. And it ran on my Win2K Professional box as well (before it died a horrible death). I would agree with Opalescence that it's the hardware more than the OS you may have trouble with.

Cheers,
