I recieved the message to go meet the exchange, a bounty hunter female tells me they are going after my friends and the next thing I know the twins are attacking Atton. Is Atton really able to beat them or is there a way to prevent him from playing pazaak in the den?

I'm stuck at that point as well...it seems to be impossible to defeat the twins

Are you jyst running around with a blaster shooting them? I did that,and they kicked my ass. Then I just equipped a melee weapon and kicked their ass.

tried both...I had my good swords equiped to another character, so I had to use the standard 2-12 ones which didn't seem to cause much demage...I guess I'll have to go back to an earlier savegame and get the good swords

Equip an energy shield an take at least one out with grenades. The enrgy shield is essential to avoid taking damage yourself. You'll have to let them get in close to you as they come after you and if you throw one right away, they will have run out of the damage range. The shrapenal will injur the second as well after you concentrate the main damage of the grenade on the first. Then you can take out the other with a melee weapon.

Or you could do what I did and have Atton run behind the bar and just blast away. They didn't even attack!!

Hide behind the bar? Should have thought of that sooner. I eventually did beat them. I ran around and eventually they both just stood on the other side of the room looking at me. I eventually blasted them both. Don't know why they stopped attacking but I'm not complaining either.
