Bloody (and not in a good way) Fan!

I'm on Level 2 of the Nosferatu warrens (and thank you, to the folks who helped me get here), at the flood-control panel. I do precisely what the walkthrough says: Throw the switch until the green "Safe" lights come on, then throw it back; jump from the catwalk, run to the water-tunnel, and swim like hell, but....No matter how I try it, I *keep* getting blown back by the fan. Now, one thing I should mention, I guess. The walkthrough says to throw the switch, then throw it once more. Well, when I do that, the first time I throw it after the green lights come on, nothing happens; I have to do it a second time, before the switch moves back to the right, or flooded, position. I'm not sure if that's the problem; seems unlikely, though.
If it isn't that...what *is* it? Who knows, maybe my guy - a Ventrue - just isn't a strong enough swimmer. (We're talkers, not atheletes, after all.<S>) More seriously....I can get *close* to the side-tunnel, but....Any tips on how to manage this 100-yard-free-style aquatic event? I'd appreciated whatever anybody can tell me. Thanks.

All clans can make the swim although celreity makes it a lot easier. The secret is the first time you throw the switch wait a little while for the fan to stop. Then throw the switch, jump over the railing (the ladder is to slow) run to the water and swim as fast as you can. Only the right side will allow you to progress

I'd ignore the walkthrough if I were you. I don't remember which light is the right light, just read the sign and use common sense. You want the reservoirs to be flooded so that you can swim through them. If they're not flooded, then you can't swim through them can you?

Flood the reservoirs with whatever lever pulling it takes (not by how many times the walkthrough says to pull it, but by how many times makes sense by reading the sign), then without hesitation and without waiting around to hear the clicking and watch the lights change, jump off the catwalk and into the water and swim.

The timing shouldn't be any different in your game than any one elses, so I think you're just waiting too long to get into the water.

Ok lets try to figure this out :)
There are two states of the tanks: Flooded and Safe, i think.
What you need to do is the following:
1.See that the tank are in the "safe" status. (Use the switch if necessary)
2.Now press the switch.
What happens now, is that the turbine starts turning.
3. The moment you press the switch jump from the platform and start swimming into reservoir 2. It will be very close, so you might need a few tries.

Please don't get mad at me for rewording what is stated in the walkthrough already. If you did all this your problem are insufficient reflexes ;)
In that case, you could send me your safegame, and i would get you past that thing.

Edit: Geez two replies while i was typing mine. I am getting old and slow.
