Restoring Interface?

Post by txa1265 »

I just got and installed Divine Divinity, skimmed the manual (electronic) and then put away all but the 'play disc'.

So now I'm in the Catacombs and try to do something, and the whole bottom interface goes away and is replaced by the red, blue and yellow thin bars ... but no clear way to get it back ... any clues what to do?

Also - I'm starting as a warrior, and am wondering what skills I should take. I hear repair is useless, so is enchant weapon good? Or should I stick to weapon proficiencies?

Thanks,

Mike

As for your problem, did you download and apply the latest patch?

Concerning skills, don't concentrate on those of any one profession. Get a level of alchemy right away, so you can make and use healing potions.

Don't worry about enchanting until you're at least halfway through the game. The benefits of all charms ecept the two highest levels are negligible, and you're better off selling the cheaper ones for supplies you need.

Get a level of the frost/freezing spell. It's invaluable. You'll want to raise it as you go along.

I did get a couple of levels of repair, and they helped. But I wouldn't suggest it at first.

Thanks for the help. I started a new game and that took care of things. It also gave me the chance to notice that I could take skills from any class, not just warrior.

Thanks,

Right. The major effect of choosing a class in DD is the special ability you have throughout--in the warrior's case, the whirlwind attack. But you can learn any skills you wish.

The 'disappearing' bottom interface is a feature, not a bug ;)
The three coloured bars represent health, mana and stamina. You can go back to the normal interface by right-clicking on the bars.
