Personally, I think Bretons are the more interesting 'race,' but it is always so highly subjective and related to playing style

Acrobatics is really useless. Even as a misc skill it goes up very quickly, and the only thing you can do with it is jump high. Pick either Alteration or keep Alchemy and use levitation for those few times where you have to reach something high. My advise is to pick a Breton, especially with the Atronach sign they can be super(cheesy?)powerful.
PS: long blades do more damage and you can find more powerful enchanted ones, but short blades are quicker and you can find jinkblades, which are extremely powerful (jink = paralyze 10 or 15 seconds on strike)

You can also drop block in favor of another skill... Without block your armor skills go up faster.

yes block is quite pointless skill..

You should keep in mind that for practical purposes the skills you select only make a significant difference in the beginning of the game or if you intend to specialise by roleplaying a specific character type.... Once you start gaining levels (naturally or by paying for them), it tends to be fairly easy to become proficient in basically anything you want.
Birth sign and race can make a far bigger difference.. For example a Breton, or Altmer, born under the Atronach will become an extremely powerful mage.....
Equally, a Nord or Red Guard born under the Lady will be an excellent fighter...

hmmm so maybena breton and mage him a mage/thief mainly?

yes it is quite possible...
And it could be quite nice char to play with...
But as for 3 other magic skill..
Pick Illusion.. it is most usefull school of magic... (well atleast for me..)
And it would fit quite well for mage/tief theme..
Destruction and Restoration wouldn't harm either..

I would advise putting Light Armor is a minor skill and Illusion as a major. Your armor will go up nontheless, and illusion is very hard to train at lower levels. It starts becoming immensly powerful by level 50, but before 40 it is practically useless.

Concentrate on one weapon. Once the money starts rolling in, you can always find a trainer for any other weapon you wish. Alchemy is a very useful skill well worth having as a major from the start, in my opinion, since it lets you make restore health and restore magicka potions. The only investment is in the alchemy set, since you can pretty much find or "liberate" any herbs and gems you need. And if you know where to look, you can acquire a very good alchemy set for free.

A mage/thief type is a lot of fun. That is how my present dark elf character started out. I only wish I had chosen the Atronach as my birth sign, since my magicka is not very high, even with items that enchant intelligence. That is why I mentioned race and birth sign as being much more critical than skill selection.
IMO thief skills like sneak and marksman are amongst the most fun to practice in the game, especially in combination. There is something very satisfying about sneaking within shooting range of an enemy and then letting your bow rip.
So I would also select, or train in, marksmanship. Some people will say you don't need to worry about it if you have destruction, but it is just fun. Plus, it is helpful to have another form of ranged attack when/if your magicka runs out.

Motlovir was right about illusion being powerful at high levels. I have a ranges spell that paralizes an aoe for 20 seconds. That's nasty. I just shoot off one of those when I see a group, then let the hellfire rain.

Looks like a great character, friend. Especially digging the choice of light armor. I'd have to respectfully disagree with Fable, however, on the whole Alchemy thing. I much prefer to have Alteration as a major skill from the beginning, mainly just to have a higher success rating of casting Levitation from the get-go without any training. Completely a personal thing, though.
