From what you know... is Oblivion like Morrowind?

Well, if you go to the Besthesda website you'll get an idea of what will be similar and what will be different... There has also been at least one interview with the creative team, I'm pretty sure I read it at Game Banshee actually.

Beyond that, it is a bit hard to speculate, given that the game won't be released for some time to come. At this point we can only go by the hype (*shudder*), interviews and basic speculation.

As someone at the TES boards pointed out, Oblivion is not Morrowind 2. Just compare Daggerfall and Morrowind, they are totally different.

I do hope it won't be the same as Morrowind.
From the screenshots, it won't be so much swamps and jungle like, but rather deep forests & castles. Roman churches & count Dracula style.

Good. Honestly, I'm kind of sick of wandering around in muddy swamps looking for some random cavern with a name that's 13 letters long and unpronouncable.

I enjoyed the tribunal expansion for its change of scenery.

I heard that you could become a Vampire in Morrowind, can you in Oblivion?

This thread has a list of many of the new features in Oblivion. Obviously, it doesn't include all.

I hope they put out a lot of little expantions so you can shape the game like you want it to be.
