Cumulative Spells

Are spells like bless, prayer, greater malision, etc. cumulative? Does your THACO and saving throws increase/decrease every time you cast it, even when the spell is already active on your character? I heard greater malision is, so is this true? I'm a major magic person, so this info would help me a lot Image

I know in PnP AD&D, multiple bless spells are NOT cumulative. I assume this is the case in BG2 as well, but I haven't tried it.

I think the way it works is that most of the beneficial spells are NOT cumulative. So just cast each one once (ie. Bless, chant, prot. from evil, defensive harmony). You can stack those spells together to get all the benefits, but not 2 castings of the SAME spell.

The harmful spells cast on your enemies usually CAN be stacked. So you can cast Doom (lower resistance, greater malison, etc) multiple times at the same guy and have increasing effects.

So to take out a dragon you could have lower resistance casted twice on the dragon and then follow it up with some offensive spells.

Thanks. I knew lower resistance is cumulative for sure, but I wasn't so sure about greater malision. Thanks a lot Image
