hello,
i want to be a human fighter with wings, so i decided to make a
red dragon lvl 10+ / Fighter lvl4 / bard lvl1 (in order to acces to the red dragon disciple class).
I don't understand well how the 20% XP limitation works.
> the prestigious class wont be considered fo this?
> as i am a human, my "predilection" class will be fighter ?
so if i'm right, i wont have any XP limitation?
or there will be, and i must make a RDD 10+ / Fight 3 / bard 2 ?
Could someone tell me what i have to do in order to not have the XP limitation?
Thanks

You should not get any multi-classing penalty, no.
Prestige class' don't count towards this penalty, and seeing as the human has highest class as "favored multiclass", it basically means a human character can multiclass any way withouth penalty.
Now if you had selected any other race which didn't have *neither* bard nor fighter as favored class, having a L4 fighter/L1 bard would give you the penalty, and then L3/2 would be a good idea (or 4/3 or any combo with maximum 1 difference in level).

i find the answer by myself, doing the test :
i have the limitation with a rdd 10 / fighter 4 / bard 1 ,
and not with a rdd 10 / fighter 3 / bard 2.
Probably a "bug" or a misunderstanding of the rules...
Anyway, Thanks for the answer

With a human character you should have no multiclass exp. penalty at all, so I can't understand why you get one?

with a human multiclass :
my highest level class is my predilection class, wich doesnt count to calculate the xp penalty
the prestigious class isnot counted to calculate the xp penalty
but with a rdd10 / fight 4 / bard 1 :
my predilection class is edd >> ignored to calculate the xp penalty
and RDD is also ignorated because it s a prestigious class..
But the 2 others (fighter and bard) are used to calculate the xp penalty..
so it will be hard to make my 2 katana fighters with wings :'(

If you wanted to make your character a dwarf (which makes sense for fighters), then you wouldn't have an experience penalty.

Yes, humans ignore the highest class even if it is a prestige class. Seeing as it hasn't been addressed, I don't think Bioware considers it a bug, but rather a feature.

it's not a bug nor a feature, because as far as I know, the prestige classes do count towards XP penatly, thats why human ( or half elf) would count a prestige class as it's favourite class.
