I've finally done it.
The hardest quest was definitely against the Balverines in the Arena.

TIP: To kill balverines quickly, use Arken's crossbow.

HuH? the balverines were easy=S Silver augumention or something .. put that on a sword .. it worked with me .. or im so good

For me the Two Stone Troll Brothers since I had a crap bow at the time and took at least 3 ressurection Phials to actually beat them both

u should have used a melee weapon

Lmao .. =\ i thought they trolls were the easiest =) keep close attack him and ive he jumps or smashes on the ground just roll ...

roll!!! what for?? just use the assassin rush and it takes you back and forth to the same spot out of reach and definitely melee weapon, I had the obsidian greatsword at that time with a flame and silver augmentation and they were all pretty easy... I don't like the bows so I used the lightning and fireball a lot as well.

I presume you guys missed the plot, no level-up means no magic except lv1 lightning. Everytime you upgrade your spell or gain a spell your actually leveling up that spell's level.

No one can finish the game without leveling up, I tried fighting one balverine with 0 physique 0 toughness 0 health 0 speed and so on... 5 slashes dead.

Yeah youre right .. but i don't use assassin rush i only use other spells like enflame and lighting ... and i hit with melee 600 so ... and magic it was like 80 or 180 i dunno

I disagree. I finished the game without levelling-up. Balverines can be killed with one shot from either legendary bow. I died twice during the entire game. Both by bandits.

It takes a lot longer than normal and you'll find that your combat and blocking skills improve a hell of a lot!

It takes 3 shot + Multi-Arrow and Level 5 - 7 Accuracy from Arkan's Crossbow to kill one White Balverine. 1 Shot from Arkan's Crossbow with 0 Accuracy deals about 230 - 330 Damage and that's not enough. Why don't you post a screenshot to prove it.

EDIT: A little mistake there, I was assuming no leveling up as in NO Elixir of Life + Will Master's Elixir. To the people above, no leveling up means you stay at 0 Physique, using Master Greatsword is not possible.

I beat the arena in one of my games with just a stick,I know what your thinkin... but its possible. I maxed out all my str stats except phy, but i did have a ebony bow that i used on the white balverines. i spent every penny i ever got on res vials and potions and produce so yeah its possible. just takes freakin forever

Yeh, your not the only one, I've done it, took about 50 or so minutes. With 0 strengh stats it's well hell hard.

But this challenge is about not leveling at all, you get level 0 everything except level 1 lightning which you get by default.

Forgive me for neglecting my damage requirement per creature studies as of late. I just play the game.

Level 0, Arken's Crossbow (or Skorm's Bow), 1 shot = dead Balverine.
(it takes about 3-4 shots to kill the white one)
Try it if you don't believe me.

Close/Head/Neck/Shoulder/Chest/Back shot.

I am at level 5 accuracy and 1/6 times one shot from Arkan's{No Multi-Strike} didn't kill the Balverine, done this at Knothole Glade entrance. Didn't zoom, just used L trigger, also was fairly distant shots.

I don't usually have time to zoom when killing balverines! They're also at a fairly medium range when I shoot them.
