If anyone's got a moment, can they tell me what are their preferred methods of wasting golems and, as well, liches?

Wack 'em silly

My fighter simply uses his two long swords. They might not do a lot of damage, but neither does the golem Image

For golems, a general rule is "hit hard and fast",that means melee combat with your characters hasted etc.Use magical weapons, preferably blunt (like flails) because they always work.(I think clay golems can be struck only by blunt weapons)
A very good weapon is the flail of ages because it slows them (and golems tend to cast haste on themselves)
Liches are high level spellcasters so you need your mages to use spells that disrupt protection spells such as spell turnig, mantle etc.Refer to Game Banshee's section with combat tips if you find any problems-especially with Kangaxx
Now about Crom Faeyr: I am going to have a legal dispute with Cromwell because the weapon he forged for me couldn't kill Adamantite and Iron golems with one hit.So i suspect he forged for me an imitation of the famous weapon.I am going to check again and it is possible that in my hammer's head i'll find and inscriprion like "Made in ....". I want my money back!

if you read closer on the desc of crom faeyr you will see it says clay and stone only....but have anyone else noted that it says on the hammer of thunderbolts that the finished version can slay ogres as well..but crom faeyr doesnt lists it.

That's exactly what i am trying to say.The in-game description is the weapon Cromwell forged.I don't know about you,but I read on the manual that it kills golems, ettins and trolls with one hit.So if it can't kill ALL golems then the manual description is wrong.Either that or Cromwell is a thief.

i think it was a game balance issue..the adamantite golems becomes a pushover for your party when you had that hammer..so there would still be some major obstacles to topple in the endgame
