Need Help ! In Yoshi's Dungeon

I picked up yoshi and finished the genie quest. But when I go back to Yoshi's dungeon I cant get either of the doors to open . What am I missing? the doors are locked and protected by magic. I tried using both Yoshi and Imeon to unlock them with no luck. And yes I read Yoshi'slittle statement before I added him to my party. But I still cant get the doors to unlock. Any Ideas ? thanks

Okay, first, it's actually Irenicus's dungeon at the beginning of the game (and it took me a while to figure out that's what you meant). By "Yoshi's dungeon" I'm assuming that you mean the 2nd floor of the dungeon, which you had to have reached in order to find Yoshimo.

That being the case - which magically locked doors on the 2nd floor are you referring to? You're going to have to be a bit more specific about that.

He might mean the doors in the northwest, that lead to the genie. For that, you need an item you can receive from some prisoners of Irenicus. Look for them near his living quarters.

Or, if you can't go through the portals anymore, there's a chance you lost the portalkey. If that's the case, check the place where you got the sword from the genie. If your invetory was full, there's a chance that the sword kicked the portalkey out of the inventory.

Styze, I was sure the game made the portal key undroppable once you obtained it, so I don't think that's it.

Then again, the only other door in Irenicus' dungeon I can think of that I ever had problems opening is the one on the first floor, which is only opened by getting the golem to open it after giving him the activation stone.

You mean the doors or the wands? Because at that level you need to:

SPOILERISH CONTENT, BEWARE

a) kill the memphit portals to avoid those nasty monsters from tearing you apart
b) search for the "wand keys" inside the boxes
c) get the wand of magic missiles from the clone thing, and prior to going there you need it on your inventory
d) click on the pedestals to unlock the wands and disable all the traps on the dwarven room.
e) get a key to unlock the shapeshifter in a glass cage.

as for locked doors, you wont have many problems with them, there are not many unpickable doors at this dungeon.

Anyway, despite this, I guess your problem is not in the first dungeon... but maybe elsewhere.

Can you post a picture of the place?

I finished the quest for the genie. So I know how I opened that door.
The doors I am referring too are the two sealed by magic in the room next to
Yoshi. When you warp through the mirror yoshi is there and goes through his speal about the generators and the creatures. I ran in the room and picked up all the items and put them on Imoen thinking she could use one to open one of the two doors. To be more specific, the dungeon I am refferring to has
Khalids body laying on the slab. And when you scan over it it says this body has been here for awhile and subjected to experiments. Its the room next to the portal.

just kill all the monsters in there, well the 4 or 5 ones in the cage and that will get rid of the rest and allow you to open the doors!

I don't remember ever trying to run through the mephit room without killing all of the mephit portals. But now that I think about it, I can see why the game would keep the exit doors locked until you have finished killing all of the monsters in the room. Irenicus's dungeon is supposed to be an obstacle course, and there's no easy way out. :)

hello,

it would be funny, if i ain't want to cry :) i've got the same problem - i can't get through those two doors! i've killed all silly mephits, that's for sure and of course that didn't help :/

i'm using these mods:

I've used almost every mod as you have installed now without any problems, except for Tortured Souls, whcih I never used before. Does that mod change the dungeon, by any chance?

Just use cheat hot keys and teleport via [Ctrl]+J

well, it's really weird. i even can't open cheat console :/ simply crtl+tab isn't working. (i've edited baldur.ini and placed Cheats=1 under the [game options] section)
for TS, i've been playing this mod many times, and there where no such problems before.
that was 'clean' instalation i've made, so the only problem that i could distinguish is mods clashing...

hmmm, i see no other ways just reinstalling the game... well, i hope it won't repeat...

i've remembered that i had enough brains to install SoA patch before instaling ToB. maybe that could be a problem?

reinstalled. not helped. any suggestions? :(

It's been awhile since I've done it, but i thought you were supposed to do Debug Mode=1 under the options.

Thanks, everyone for help. I've enabled cheat keys and gone past doors... But i don't get why those two doors is locked. If it were only for me, i would be thinking that there's something bad with my install settings.
it would be interesting to see what install do you use Animal?
cause i've played bg hundreds times and there where no such anomalies.

You could always download and apply Dungeon-be-Gone, and miss that painful section altogether, while still keeping all items, exp and quests (Dryads). All of Irenicus' dungeon completed in less than 3 minutes!
