Feat Adjustment?

Can anybody please explain what Feat Adjustment is?
I could find no reference in my manual for it and i see this in the description of many weapons.

It's the difference between the skill requirement of the weapon and your actual skill. It directly affects the damage you do with your attacks. IIRC the damage formula is:
Base damage * (Lethality + Feat adjustment)
If your skill is below the min requirement, you can still use the weapon, but at a penalty.

so feat adjustment can vary depending on my skill level?
negative feat adj. is bad, positive is good, right?

That's right. A negative feat adj. means you're not using the weapon to its full potential, a feat adj. of 0 means you're average with that weapon and a positive one means that you can use the weapon with above average skill. This system means that a highly skilled fighter using a knife is gonna do more damage than a whimp with a katana....
