I have been trying to add the "-console" command to the target line in order to use the console cheats but I have not been able to get it to work.

I right click on the desktop short cut. Add -console to the end of the target box line "C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\vampire.exe" and hit "Apply" and i get the following error message:
Problem with shortcut
The name '"C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\vampire.exe"-console' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure path and file name are correct.

What am i doing wrong?

Put a space after the " mark, and then put the -console. There's always a space between such commands.
