It seems this file on my disc is damaged. As it loads, an alert appears reading "Component transfer error" and I can't finish downloading the game.
Is the file available online? Is it 3.6Mb or less so I can put it on a floppy for my other computer?

Well you should try it...
But why cant you just Export you characters and then start new game.. and after killing Isaer and madea.. that should happen automatically... so there is no real need for that End movie..

Well, if it's on the original disc, anyone can send it to you (through msn, for instance), and you just replace the damaged file with the new one. Would that help?

Yes i am sure that could work in theory.. but i would say that perhaps then.. it should be same version of game.. so German and English version wouldn't work together.. but that is just theory by me..

Good point. Give us some details about the game you installed, Sparrow!

My point was that it didn't install. It got halfway through and caught on this file, then stopped.
The version I have is English.

Well, try to replace the file, then, re-write the cd, and install from that one. I'd try that.

That would be wonderful, if I had a cd-writer. That's why I asked if it was small enough to put on the floppy.

sorry for the bad news, but guy, I just checked out ,the END.MVE file is 25,521KB big, it's a , not a . yeah, more than 25MB, maybe you must use usb disk for that. If you bought a genuine copy, just go change it i think will be easier

As for changing game... well this game is quite old so stores might say no.. and different stores have different policy so they might say no.. it is still worth a try..

Mm, the disc would have suffered damage after selling and it's been forever since it was bought.
So I won't be able to play the game for a while. Gives me a bargaining point in getting my roommates to network their computers. I thank you all for your efforts. ^^

Exactly. It's impossible even to order these games (IWD and BG I mean, but lately I've had trouble finding NWN Deluxe Pack, too), they're too old to be available in stores, sadly
I have no other idea, sorry
(My heart's bleeding on the thought that there is a soul out there who wants to play IWD and can't
)
