Tavern Cellar

i was playing fable when i found a hatchway leading down into the tavern cellar in bowerstone south. however i am unable to pick the lock, what is going on, is it possible to go down there

yep. in lookout point there is a statue.
when it's pointing at bowerstone (it will tell you when you interact with it) then the cellar will be unlocked.

the statue will be pointing at bowerstone around midnight

Are you guys sure about this whole statue and midnight thing... i've tried going there at midnight on countless occasions and no luck. i even button-mahsed the hell out of that thing from like 10:00 till about 2:00 and still no go... do you actually have to press (a) on the statue first?
i've also heard that it may be something you have to do before completing the wasp-queen quest. is that true? I know theres nothing that great down there i just want to get in for the sake of it...
HELP!!!

I have self been there (tawern cellar) so it is possible.... and if you look cloase on the statue you'll see that it moves a bit(ones every second) and it takes about 10 minutes to it to move from the 'forest' where the bandits and stuff are.

now that you mention it I think you do have to action it 1st and then wait a bit but I'm not sure, just run back and forth and action (a) it, the times I've done it has been at midnight and it's worked.. don't give up man! keep the faith

ya, i know the statue moves with the clock and i've tried it after pressing (A) on the statue first and it definitely says its pointing to bowerstone... perhaps by the time i get there from the statue its no longer midnight... iether that or the game just hates me and wants me to feel like i didnt truly complete the game... but i'll keep at it!!!
No freakin midnight statue is gonna own me!!!

i made it down there dont be worried to much its just a stupid chest down there i was diapointed

Personally I think, for all the BS one has to do to get to the cellar in the first place, that A frickin' leather chest piece doesn't exactly make it worth the time.
