I'm curious, which do people prefer?
Resistance, Absorption or Reflection?
Since I play the Atronach a lot, my vote goes to Absorption.

Reflection. There's something poetic in a caster getting hit by their own spells.

I like absorption and reflection, but I really liek the atronach so I voted for absorption. Resistance can be good too because it's cheaper. SO if you're a low-level character, you can get more bang for the buck.

I woted for others, because I like to use my high acrobatics to avoid spells.

I chose reflect, I prefer the idea of mages being hit woth their own magic, even though items with CE Reflect are rare and it is hard, making your own, but I do, if not always, use the atronach sign.

I suppose you could count that my character has so many hit points that few spells mess with him. I carry a high quality restore potion for each attribut, two for strength, and I don't have to worry too much.

I have also found that enchanting an item with 2 % dispel at CE is an excellent way of avoiding magic damage. It even works with poison. Though I plan to mostly avoid enchanting in this game

My favorite kind of defense is absorb. My justification behind my answer: (to quote everyone's favorite nagging Jedi, Bastila) "What greater weapon is there than to turn an enemy to your cause? To use their own knoledge against them?" Although that is sort of out of context (unless we're talking about absorb intelligence

).
Although I mostly use absorb spellwise, some of my gear does provide me with CE reflection or resistance to magicka (a certain amulet and a certain cuirass), which is equally helpful.

I don't really use any defensive magic, but Absorbtion is the best

I just choose to dodge the spell. So I chose other. You do not have to worry about resisting, reflecting, or absorbing if you dont get hit
