Gamespot names BG2 the RPG of the year!

(apologies to those not interested for the spam... I thought this was pretty cool)
Our very own Bauldur's Gate II beat out Blizzard's Diablo II for the honor of Role-Playing Game of the Year:

Icewind Dale also won a special achievement award

I just "sampled" Diablo, and can you say "Pokemon?" I can't imagine Diablo 2 would be much different. In Diablo, there's one city and one dungeon, and they have the temerity to call it an RPG? No story, no character development, no variation. Just hack and slash day-in and day-out. I've played infinitely better SNES games, and that's just sad...

We talk about Diablo II, it has 4 cities, many dungeons, skills,,, well, still, more hack 'n slash, but...

There ain't no RPG called Diablo or Diablo 2 or whatsoever. BG2 Rules forever (well, till BG3 comes out
)

I got diablo 2 completed it on hell mode but diablo 2 is so linear. Baldurs gate 2 is the king of RPG's I have never played a game so involved with story that makes you want to complete the game over and over again. It is not linear, you can choose to do whatever you wish unlike diablo 2 it is going from point A to B to C ect. Baldurs gate 2 should be crowned best game ever.

Never played Diablo 2, but if it has any relation to Diablo, and I'm sure it does, it can't be anything compared to the sheer happy goodness of BG2. And if some people like Diablo2 better...then they are stupid and not true RPG fans

BG2 is the best game id kill my self before i said that piece of sjit Dia-dick 2 is better
