Experience Cap on IWD?

I've only played this game twice by borrowing it from a friend and for some reason I feel like revisiting the game again after my hours of Baldur's Gate.
One thing I remember in particular was that I was always a horribly low level while trying to play the game and how everyone I fought seemed so much more powerful, now what I'm wondering about the following things.
What is the max experience and level that you can achieve in the game (my friend lost his manual)
Is it possible to solo the entire game?
Is there a patch that would allow me to uncapped the experience if there is a limit?
Thanks

You can find an experience cap disabler at
this webpage.
If you want to compare your progress with mine, my six characters each had about one million experience points right before the final battle. I was playing in Normal Mode and I didn't install the expansion packs (Heart of Winter and Trials of the Lure Master). I didn't know in advance how high in level my characters were supposed to be, so my opinion on that subject was pretty much neutral; I wasn't disappointed. As for the difficulty of the battles, none of them seemed unwinnable to me. I used a lot of potions and low-level Mage spells such as Chromatic Orb, and I felt like my party could handle just about anything. To be honest, for a combat-oriented game, it wasn't as difficult as I expected it to be. On the other hand, I had just finished playing IWD2 and BG2: Throne of Bhaal, so I was comparing it to a couple of very difficult games.
I've heard that other people have successfully soloed the game. In one message thread that I barely remember, one player claimed that he had soloed the game with a character that by common wisdom was not supposed to be able to succeed. I can't remember whether it was a Mage or non-Mage character. Apparently, there's one encounter that a certain type of character is not supposed to be able to win, but the player in question found a way to do it. I have no idea what they were talking about; I never play solo, anyway.

Heart of Winter Disables the XP cap
If you have the Heart of Winter expansion it will allow your characters to gain unlimited XP. I didn't load HOW until after I had done one run through of the basic IWD. I had to go back through the the first cave of Upper Dorn (the monsters, Ettins & Blue Myconids regenerate if you leave the cavern and rest) several times, I lost count, to even come within sight of the cap. This is even after doing every side quest I believe possible. A trip trough the Myconid cavern gains about 6k average XP per member for a party of 6. Nice if you are real close to a new level and want to do something familiar to tip you over. With the IWD 1,800,001 cap the average single class character can get to about 14th or 15th level.
Starting from a save that was just before the first meeting w/Bro Poq, I loaded HOW and Trials of the Luremaster and did them. Even after going through them I could only get my characters up another few levels. My Cleric did best, progressing from 14th to 22nd Level. I did notice that when I did the final fight with Bro Poq/Behl again, 2 nasty Cornugons were added to fray (courtesy of TotL no doubt).

Ah cool thanks for info. May be I'll get a hold of the game again and try soloing with a thief/mage and do the good old back stab to victory
If you have the Heart of Winter expansion it will allow your characters to gain unlimited XP.
this is untrue... heart of winter alows you to go to level 30 (about 8,000,000) then you don't gain any more xp. i know this because my bard's next level says godhood. she is at level 30 and 8,000,000 xp. i've tryed to get her more xp but she can't. as for the xp remover... i instaled it and my bard did go to level 31... but for some reason she lost all her spells and bard songs!!! so i'd recomend not to use it.
