Endure Elements?

Hi,
I'm in Chapter 2 of NWN, playing an elven rogue, and I've just killed Brother Tolas and got the Tome of Life. I took that to Eltoora and she put the notes in her lab, which say to put a FenBerry and Quartz Crystal in the chest and cast Endure Elements. I have Fenberries and Quartz Crystals a-plenty, but I have a problem - what is Endure Elements? According to my manual, there's no such spell. Being a rogue I can cast spells from scrolls but I can't find the scroll anywhere and I'm wondering how I am supposed to make this magical item if the spell doesn't exist. Does it have a different name, or can it only be found in a certain place, or what's the idea?

Thanks

Have you tried "RESIST elements"?

Well I found a scroll of Resist Elements, went to Eltoora's lab, put a Fenberry and a Quartz Crystal in the chest in the middle of the big room with the bookcase next to it, and then used the scroll on it. A big lightning bolt came down and hurt me (or would have hurt me if I hadn't had electrical resistance) and the chest started shimmering just the way anyone does if I cast that spell on them, then I opened up the chest and my Fenberry and quartz crystal were right there where I left them. Did I do something wrong, or is there actually an Endure Elements spell I haven't found?

Well - there is an Endure Elements:
Caster Level(s): Cleric 1, Druid 1, Paladin 1, Wizard / Sorcerer 1
Innate Level: 2
School: Abjuration
Descriptor(s):
Component(s): Verbal, Somatic
Range: Touch
Area of Effect / Target: Single
Duration: 24 Hours
Additional Counter Spells:
Save: Harmless
Spell Resistance: No

The target creature gains damage resistance 10/- against all elemental forms of damage. The spell ends after absorbing 20 points of damage from any single elemental type.
which is a smaller version of the Resist elements.

Why it isn't mentioned in the manual, has to be an oversigt.

I know it is in the game, but I have no clue as to where to get a scroll for it.

I remember now having used endure elements as a ranger, druid and, (maybe) bard. I actually don't know where you can find a scroll of this spell, maybe in Eltoora's shop.

Now you have two choices: 1) you can level one of the class Xandax showed

2) to forget about this magic device

Not really great, but you should consider you can keep on your game even without that.

Well I'm not super-desperate for the item or anything so I'll probably just keep an eye out for a scroll of it. Thanks a lot guys.

I think that when you enter Eltoora's Lab there is someone down there. You can buy everything (or allmost everythin) you need for item creation from him.

The only guy in there is Saer Bodkin, and he doesn't offer to sell me anything, let alone items for magic spells.

No. You should speak to Eltora herself. Unfortunately she only sells you something if you can give her a reagent (dragon blood, gargoyle skull, or anything of that sort); it is she who's running her shop in the "open air"...

I hav egiven her reagents before and looked in her shop, and she does sell quite a few spells and things, but Endure Elements is not one of them unfortunately.

Well, this is weird, b/c Endure Elements is a low-level wizard spell. I remember for sure that Aribeth had it for sale back in the Hall of Justice. Gives you some resistance against fire, cold, electricity and acid.

You should find a scroll sooner or later at any merchant.

I don't think Eltoora sells the scrolls you need to make items... I have never found one....

Are you sure? It's been a while since I played this game but I am 95% certain that I buy Endure Elements scroll (along with some other items) from Saer. Maybe you just need high persuasion or he will sell items only if you are wizard.

P.S. I was away for a few days so I didn't reply sooner. Sorry.

In addition to previous post - I think that you need to talk about item creation with Saer to open up a option to buy item from him (it is entirely possible that you need high persuasion or a level in a arcane spellcaster class to do that).

I have quite reasonable charisma and Persuade so I would guess I have to be a wizard or such.

actually he does sell things, you just have to run through the dialogue the right way with him.

I assure you that I have tried ever dialogue option and he sells me nothing - I expect that I may have to be an arcane spellcaster class.

sorry if im way out here, but whats your charisma??
maybe you can only see his wares if you have a certain charisma level?

My natural charisma is 10, but the Belt of the Performer and the Lantanese Ring put it up to 16 - surely that would be enough if Charisma was the important thing?
