Just loved it!

I haven't really played any pc-games at all for years. I find it hard to get fascinated enough to sit playing it for hours on end. But this game (Vampire Bloodlines) really got me hooked again. I used to play the White Wolf Vampire RPG years ago plus that I love Anne Rice's Vampire series, so that kinda helped. I also liked the character building part, you are kinda free to do what you want. And I also liked the fact that even the story is somewhat fixed you can still roam around finding other stuff to do.

So my question is, what other RPG's for PC can you really recommend? I think I remember I liked the old Fallout, the new ones any good?

Thanks for all and any help.

My All time Favourites RPGs:

Older ones:

Baldur's Gate amd Baldur's Gate II series
Planescape Torment
Fallout and Fallout II

Newer ones:

Knights of the Old Republic
Neverwinter Nights
Morrowind

Should be cool:

Knights of the Old Republic II

Doomboy, please check out the forum rules, especially the one about using other characters to get around posting vulgarities. The site owner really enforces these--we're in the US, we have a full range of ages on the board, and complaints to our ISP can get us taken offline.

I've changed the title of this thread, but please keep these rules in mind in the future.

Fable,

PS: I'm also moving this to the RPG Discussion forum. Stands to reason more people who've played a wide range of RPGs will be there. ;)

Baldur's Gate 2

Ultima VIIa and b

For me it's important to have low requirements and good game play, generally I dislike games with super graphics because they run slow on my computer :P and since that there seems to be more an emphasis on graphics than the game itself.

Fallout 2: The best game of all time for me!
Baldur's Gate 2
Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction
Fallout Tactics
Chrono Trigger
Diablo 1
Arcanum

You really, really need to play Planescape Torment. Top quality game in the roleplaying stakes. Pretty dated these days, graphics wise, though.

Otherwise, I would say Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, the Fallouts, Morrowind, System Shock 1 & 2 (both excellent, but 1 is very dated as well), maybe the Might and Magics (also dated but good fun).

Cheers,

Fallout 1/2 (Most non-linear out of my favourites)
Planescape: Torment (Best story)
Knights of the Old Republic (I loved the dialogues...and it's Star Wars)
Baldur's Gate 2/Throne of Bhaal (Most well rounded)
Arcanum (Despite the average reviews, I enjoyed this one...dwarves with guns are fun ;) )

And if you consider FPS with some RPG elements and great stories I also enjoyed System Shock 2 and Deus Ex.

Ouch, are you serious ?

Anyway, the RPGs I recommend are:

- Baldur's Gate. This game is excellent, the plot simply owns but the unfortunately the graphics are quite old :/

- Kotor 1 & 2. These games are really good but IMO they aren't replayable.

- Gothic 2. THIS GAME OWNS. I mean it. The BEST RPG I've ever played.

Actually - you can experience this in Scandianvia as well (I've read about it happening in Denmark anyways, and would think the policies are somewhat alike with the rest of Scandiavia).
If complaints are filed for misuse to your ISP, they can decide to simply cut you off, I'd also think it is written in your contract with the ISP :)

Planescape Torment, now that is a really really good game, but it took me ages and ages to get into it. It does rank up with Baldur's Gate II + the Throne of Bhaal expansion for me. Highly recommended indeed.

Altime favorite would have to be: Phantasy Star IV, on the sega megadrive :D
On the more ''recent'' I like Diablo II and WoW.

There was little reason to bump a thread that is 9 months old, and has been inactive for almost the same amount of time. Closing it.
