 How come on Tatooine, my first race got 22.39s, the second got a slightly more disapointing 22.53s and now when I have to beat a time of 22.51 I can't even get close???? What the hell am I doing wrong?
Please any help would be ideal, I've had the game for over 5 months and this is the only race I can't win & I'm bloody sick to death!

Yes that happened to me too but I just kept trying and eventully I beat it by 10 milaseconds. I think i've heard that lower your resolution helps. Also try and memorise the track then you'll know when to turn and poo like that.

I have done it many times, trick is to shift when it goes to the bar just before it goes red and to take the straightest line possible while still hitting as many boost pads as possible...

If you want to focus on shifting than just keep hitting the A button repeatly so you dont miss a shift.

No it's not that, I know how to shift and have figured out the best line to take and as I've said I've already beaten it once on the exact same line I'm using now! So why the hell can't I do it again?

i found that the more i lost swoop races, the more angry i became (stupid dumb game grr @#(*$#*$^#*&$^*!!!!) i'd suggest you take a break, come back, do a run without trying to win. just go slow and hit the pads in the right order, then, do it again but put the pedal to the metal. and dont forget to lean into the turns ;)

i find the swoop races very easy. i always play on max resolution never had any problems. in my opinion the start is what u need to focus on. before the lights turn off just press the accelerate button a lot of times so u get right started. 'cause in the beginning u accelerate very very very very very very very slowly. t.t hf just train it and try to get all the spots on the ground to get max speed.

Your right I need a break, I went off to Kashyyyk and did the star map there as well as Tatooine, beat the pants of the pazaak players, got loads of cash and went on a shopping spree to make me feel better. Retail therapy seems to have worked so I'll go back tonight and have another go. I seem to be a level 15 without even doing Manaan or Korriban yet and have 25,000 credits, left after the shopping spree.....that's a lot of retail therapy to get over one lost race lol

the most important thing is to hit as many boost pads as you can, the more you hit the sooner youll arrive regardless of how much you move or how sinewy is the path you take. The most important boosts are the ones at the start of the race, so be sure to not miss any of those cause they will take a chunk out of your time.

Look not to be rude at all but I'm in no way new to this game or the racing part, just no mater what I try or how fast I go in the previous heats the last race on tatooine always leaves me seething and throwing the controller across the room after 10 or more of abismal times that I have more than beaten in the previous races.

Despite my grumbling and general pain in the bum attitude may I just give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who posted and gave me hints and tips, I finally beat it last night and I'm sure I used some of everyone's suggestions to do it. I can finally rest easy now that I know how to do it, (I think I swerved a wee bit too much and lost the time from that).
Thank you yet again for allowing me a little peace of mind after 4 months of trying :D
