Confused on Nar Shadaa (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS
Does anyone know if it's possible to do all of Nar Shadaa early in the game? I went there directly after Telos and I can't seem to trigger my invitation to get trapped by Visquis. I really wanted to get Hanharr early, but now it's looking like that's not an option. I looked at the walkthrough and all it says about the invitation is it happens after you get attacked by the slavers from the red eclipse, but I did that AND extorted money from them, but no invitation.
Also, can anyone tell me where the heck can I get a power cell for the airspeeder in the refugee sector. I have never been able to find one.

Oops sorry posted twice.

I also go to Nar Shadda first. You have to gain enough attention by the exchange to get the message no matter when the red eclips shows up. I suggest paying the little guy in the catina/pazzak area 2000 to put in a good or bad word for you at the exchange. You find the power cell if you talk to the Ithorian in the rooms in Nar Shadda docks. You have to settle his lack of credits to pay the landing fee with Fassa then he gives you one.

Thanks for the info, Obi-Wan-Evan.
I could swear that my first time through the game I tried to install the power cell that the ithorian gave me and it said something like "you notice this isn't the right kind of power cell" and the speeder still didn't work. Maybe I was missing something else that time. Oh well, maybe next time. I already killed the Ithorian just for being there. I guess that's what I get for being evil. Maybe Kreia was right about psychotic urges being all that drives me.
I'll try both you pieces of advice next time.
Oh yeah, wait a minute.......Which little guy in the Cantina/Pazaak area? Are you talking about bat-boy?

Well I talked to bat-boy and I still can't seem to get the attention of the exchange. I'm starting to think I may have to start a new game. Bummer galore. You'd think the developers would have provided some sort of dependable trigger. Oh well, it's certainly not the first bug I've heard about with this game. Or maybe it's just one of those silly answers that's so mundane it's almost impossible to stumble across. My first time through the game I got stuck a lot. There's a fine line between fun puzzles and boring puzzles. It gets a little old running around in circles when you've already bled the XPs out of everything you CAN find.

Alright, something else I'm confused about concerning bat-boy. Obi-Wan-Evan says to pay him 2000? I can't get him to ask for anything more than 5. Is there some crazy dialog maze I need to go through to trigger THAT? I'd really like to not have start another game until I've finished this one.

Did you do most/all of the sidequests available on Nar Shaddaa?

some of the choices you make annoy the exchange, others gain their approval....
so you may have annoyed them, and balanced it with gaining their appoval...you have to play straight light or dark, really to get the invitation..

just do most of the sidequests, kill/persuade the gangs in the refugee quad. etc. My invitation didn't activate when I came out of Ebon Hawk aftering the Red Eclipse attack. I just did more side quests and during one of the loadings I got the invite.

I did do all the side quests. With the exception of beating the champ in the pazaak den. However, as Userfriendly says I think I may have balanced it. And if that's what has caused my deadlock, then in my opinion it is a bug. I suppose I should at least go beat the champ before declaring it so, but I have a funny feeling it's not going to work.
I can't believe they made continuation of the game dependent upon some invisible approval/disapproval meter. The least they could have done is give you some kind of warning. All they say is you need to get their attention. I'd say that whether they approve or dissapprove, it's still attention.
Ok, I'm calm now. One more attempt and I suspect a new game.
Thanks for the input everyone.

Also it might help to go by the refugee area entrance, I almost always get the message to fight the Red Eclipse then, but I did that after killing all the gangs, beating the champ, etc., I don't really know all that much about playing dark, so beats me otherwise.

I did a search yesterday and found several other forum's posts where other people had the same problem. The general consensus is that this is a game ending glitch unless you have a save that goes far enough back to allow you to redo the level. And I don't.
I'm surprised I didn't find a similar post here at GB. It seems that bat-boy/girl (whatever it's gender) is the key to making sure you're still on track. It's recommended that you visit him first, pay your 2000 to put a word in with the exchange and check back often to see where you stand. As long he gives you an answer, you're still alright. But if you get kicked out of the conversation when you ask where you stand, then you've messed up your attention meter and need to go back to a previous save and do something differently. But there's no way to fix it once it's broken otherwise.
Frustrating. No I know what it's like get sucked into a black hole.

if you use the infinite experience exploit with the sick guy in the refugee area, it makes you favorable to the exchange every time you use the glitch, so even though i was completely against the exchange (according to bat boy) before i sat down and boosted 8 levels after getting the invite, i got the favorable to exchange dialogs...
so in theory, if you're stuck midway, or don't have enough, just use the infinite xp exploit, and boost about 2 levels...just make sure you've already got vistas mar in party and have your prestige class...

I might have tried that, Userfriendly, but the character I was stuck with was already locked out of that exploit. I had already used it, then gone to do other things.
However, last night I got my new character to Nar Shadaa. The first thing I did, of course was work on getting my lightsabre(s). Then I paid Bat-boy, then I went strait over to exploit the level up with Saquesh. As soon as I left him I got attacked by the Red Eclipse and immediately got my invitation this time. I was a little dissappointed about not doing all the things I wanted to on Nar Shadaa, but I figured it was better to be able to finish than to worry about side missions.
The really cool thing, though, was that when I regained control of my character every one was still hangin' around. So was able to all the side missions without the approval/dissapproval chains before I went to the Jek Jek Tarr. I believe I've found a new way to play Nar Shadaa (new for me anyway). Evidently there IS alway a bright side to things.

you can do all the side quests after doing the jek jek tarr, and boarding goto's yacht...infact, some of the possible influence opportunies involve vistas which can be difficult if this is the first planet after telos, which is the way i always play it.
in fact, it has a distinct advantage to postpone things...the merchant in the trade wars quest? the one with the really good stuff to buy? his stock improves the higher your level, so if you wait to talk to him AFTER raising levels for the first time, you will have much better inventory to buy...and of course more loot to sell off to get good stuff with...

Yeah, I think the only side mission I couldn't do afterwards was fixing the airspeeder. When I went up to it, I got a message that said something like "this speeder has been sabotaged beyond repair". I'm on my fourth character and I still have never managed to fix that damn thing. Amazing. And haven't I seen in one of these posts that it's a good spot to get influence with both Bao Dur and Atton?
Getting enough influence to train Atton as a jedi is something I've yet to accomplish also.
I must admit this game is crammed full of all sorts of puzzles. Sure some of them are how-to-work-around-the-bug-and-still-meet-your-objective puzzles, but puzzles nevertheless.

Ok, I'm having a similar problem. I've done all the sidequests, and already triggerred the Red Eclipse and fought them. Bat boy/girl says the thing about the Exchange wainting my head, but I can't get the invitation to the Jek Jek Tarr to trigger... I'm also playing the PC version.

Yeah I paid the bat boy/girl. I think I'm missing something, I had this problem with the Xbox too... but it eventually triggered
