Enchanting a Daedric Longbow

Gidday all,

Zarustha managed to pruchase a Daedric Longbow from the archer's supplies shop in Vivic. Then she managed to purchase a Grand Soul Gem containing a Winged something soul from the Enchanter in the Balmora Mage Guild (worth 60k).

The question is - what enchantment should she put in the bow? I was thinking the Soul capture spell for 5 seconds and Fire Damage 10-30, which fills the bow. And since nearly everything dies in one hit... Well, I'd fill up her soul gems pretty fast!

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Cheers,
TGHO

I don't know for sure, but I seem to recall reading that for some reason "soul trap," does not work when placed on a bow. So you may want to check about with the search engine before enchanting.
I may well be wrong though, my memory is like a sieve most days

And those damage spells wont work with bows.. unless those are cast with fingers. I realy would like the idea of firing fireballs with bow.

But how about bound long bow spell?
Or some fortify spell?

Do not put a Cast on Strikes effect on a bow! It simply won't work, the only effects you can place on a bow are Constant Effect or Cast when Used. Perhaps a CE fortify agility or marksman, or a CE nighteye?

what? you can BUY daedric longbow from vivec? wtf? never heard about that.. hmm hmm hmm... well damn, guess i suck

CE fortify marksman is very good since you will hit and kill even better(well duh :p )

CE speed could be good(although i don't think the bow can hold much enchantment) but it would be useful if you need to backtrack from the enemies

Cast on Strike effects don't work on bows??? That's insane! And quite disappointing, too.

I've not got the ability to do constant effect enchantments as yet. I'm not even sure how to do this! (No, please do not spoil me.) When I find out, then I'll put Fortify Marksmanship and Fortify Agility I think.

Thanks for all the help!

Mind clarifying a bit Wrath? All you simply had to do was write the spoiler in black. ;)

Just to explain the reasoning behind why Cast on Strike doesn't work on a bow. It's really simple though....... You don't strike with your bow, it's the arrows that do the striking. And you can enchant arrows, although it's pretty pointless to do so(if you want to know why, search the forum there was a thread on that)

As for the constant effect spoiler, I will put it in black so highlight at your own risk, you need to capture either Golden Saint or Ascended Sleeper into a grand soul gem in order to put constant effect enchantments on your weapons.

I'm not looking, I'm not looking!! (Covers eyes with hands and browses to another thread.)

:p

Thanks for the info re bows, everyone. Currently my Daedric bow is unenchanted. I'll keep wandering and capturing souls. If I see something with lots of elephant trunks, I'll try to grab it. :)
