Why does Nickademus attack me?

After his spiel he disappeared and I started battling the demons alright; but then, when I was fighting some demons just outside the lightning-shooting sphere room he began attacking me for no reason!!
Is this a bug? Or is it because of something I did without knowing?

Krusader, I think you must have damaged him in some way. I would go back to an earier save and try again.

You dont need to do that... He is harmless and you might get some items for your party... But killing him might give you some conflicts if you have unpatched game.

Well, yes, I am unable to exit the level. No Kuldahar painting or anything.
I still feel bad about killing him, tho, I kinda like the guy.

Like him or not, he's a key character in the game... I'm afraid killing him might get you into further trouble, --> since he'll call on you later and your party will be teleported back to the Ice Temple.... <--
You must avoid damaging him accidentally! (As someone mentioned before, that's the only reason he may have to attack you)

Nickademus attacked me too. I just went and talked to him and asked for the exp instead of the crappy items or help. I rested and buffed in the room and Nickademus was outside of the room waiting for me as hostile. I killed him and then a text came wich said that you must load the game. You have killed a character that is important for the plotline. So I had to reload. After reload it went OK. So there might be a bug or something on Nickademus. Remember to save before chatting with him.

Oh this just keeps getting better.. another forum member who is from Finland.. things start to look bad..
Umm...
When you were at ice palace first time Nickademus asked you to repay his small way tohelp you.. right? Well.. later when playing... SPOILER.. He will teleport you back and you will need to kill quite many demons.

I dont see anyway that opening his locked ''chest'' would make him hostile.. atleast that hasn't happened for me.

Yeah were all crazy RPG fans in Finland.. well a bug or just anger for looting him, save before you go and talk
And way to go Wrath-Of-Egg.. keep up the good work on putting Finland on world map.. our domination of world begins from these forums
