Beginning again

I haven't played BG2 since shortly after ToB's release. I reinstalled it/patched it last night and was playing with the idea of beginning again. I've been scrolling through the forums here and have been considering using some mods to add some new storylines/spice to the game. I'm finding that there are two problems with this, many of the mod links seem no longer active and there are way too many mods for me to deal with.

I'm not big on cheese, and tend to prefer things that are more true to the spirit of BG, rather than riddled with *ooc* jokes or are unbalancing. In essence, I like to role play as much as possible. If this isn't too redundant, I'd very much appreciate any suggestions as to mods you think would be particularly interesting or appropriate for me. If you could point me in the direction of a download site, that would be great too. Is TDD worth playing? And is there anywhere to download it that won't take a week and a half (Fileplanet...)

Thanks so much.

Try this thread, and read the BG reference crossroads at the top of the screen for download locations.

http://www.weidu.org/main.html and http://www.pocketplane.net are two of the better mod sites. As for TDD I found it to be complete crap, but thats just my opinion.

Thanks so much Fable and Limey, all thereferences were very helpful. I think I'll pass on TDD then. It seems to much cheese for my taste. My main concern is downloading some of the unbalancing ones and still finding things that add flavor to the new play through.
