The only thing I get to see is the logo with the skull, but nothing happends when i wait a few minuts.
I tried full install recomanded install everything.
And i'm playing it on a P500 so that shouldn't be a problem either.

I am aware that this is an old post but Raven have u tried to install the Beta patch??
This patch makes the game load much faster and also solves several other slowdown problems :)

I found out it isn't a bug, it's because my CDROM-Drive, it spinns, the game starts after about 5 minutes, when i play at my other computer t starts rght away.

I'm from Belgium, hope that's allowed :)

Anyway i have the same problem, it just won't work half the time.
The skull comes up and my computer freezes up. I can tell you that this is ****ing annoying.

I found out that re-installing SoA and ToB helps but you shouldn't have to do that everytime you play.

Didn't stop me from kicking Melissan's butt though ;)

I had the same problem. I reinstalled both SOA and TOB and the problem persisted.

After that, I found a patch on an interplay or bioware site which I installed. That did the trick, so now I'm happily playing TOB. By the way, I ordered my copy online.

This is a known issue and will be solved as soon as you install the Beta patch. It has nothing to do with your version - I couldn't play the British version either without the patch.

I have English ToB, and couldn't start the gale because of incompatibility between the LaserLok CD protection put on European ToB Versions and my CD reader...Problem got away with the beta patch, that disable the protection scheme.
Did you try full install + patch (so we could be sure the CD itself is not the problem :) )?

Another Dutchie... And yes, it's a common bug, but I'm surprised no one bothered to post a link to the beta patch...
Ah well, here it goes: :) http://www.bioware.com/bg2tob/bg2tobpatch.shtml
