Lightside or Dark?

I do not have the game yet and I know I will be lightside because I enjoy being good, but I want to know what other people think. So; Which is more fun, Light or Dark? Good or Evil?

From the little experience I have, light/dark tends to be a little more balanced here. If you're DS you'll have an easier time getting money and items (stealing and such) but if you're LS you'll gain influence more easily. (being nice to people)
Since I prefer the second over the first, I choose Light Side. (first time through)

Evil just look nice. I really hope KOTOR II with male PCs lets the hair grow out after event/quest.. I had a very nice dark PC in KOTOR I. Beat it darkside frist too.. (How could you hold back that title?)

Probably light side for me is more fun. But only because I feel better about myself when I'm light side.
I have to admit, though, that a lot of the dialogue options are more fun for dark side. It's just that after a long game of dark side I start to feel dirty.

I have the most fun when playing as myself, so kinda dark but not a lot
It does annoy me when certain things are viewed as light or dark when I personally feel them to be neutral (and thus I gain points that I feel are unjustified) like from staying out of other people's arguments (so what if somebody dies as a result, it's not my job to police the galaxy)
But I've always found it easier to play light/good in games than dark/evil just because of the way they're engineered. If there was a dark/light solution to every puzzle it'd be OK but it seems there's always a disproportionate amount of quests that can only be solved through being goody-goody (save the little girl here, protect the village there, that kind of thing)

I know what you mean, but then if you're playing light-side, as a Jedi, then it kind of is your job to help police the galaxy. But sometimes there are situations where points are unjustified. Its also awkward because you don't get the ability to change how a character might perceive what you are saying to them. For example people take offence to a line, that if spoken (I know you don't actually speak but you know what I mean) in a less harsh tone or with humor, it wouldn't be offensive in the slightest. So sometimes you're forced to go with different conversations just to avoid people getting mad.
Personally I always prefer light-side, its got that romantic fantasy edge to it that came from the films. Never really felt right forcing out dark-side conversation choices and actions. Each to their own though.
I've found with both of these games (not finished this one yet though) that light-siding is always more fun. Sometimes with dark-side you REALLY have to go out of your way just to be evil when that situation isn't actually that importnat anyway.

I've been unable to play any of my RPGs as a good character. If I force myself to play as a goody-goody I lose interest.
Let's face it, you will be spending about 50+ years of your life (assuming average lifespan of 70+ years and 18 years as the minor-adult threshold) following the rules after you are no longer a minor because if you break the rules you end up in jail or worse. In fact I bet many of us here probably spend all of our lives following the rules 'coz we still don't want to get into trouble as a minor.
At least let us spend a few hours in a virtual world being an anarchist

I have the opposite problem. I actually feel guilty if I play evil. I'd like to be able to play the KOTOR as more of an evil route. I end up on more of a neutral bent when I try - not getting past the occasional rude remark or petty theft. It's very sad, really.

My opinion is that dark side is better(but i like light side) because you get more experience being dark then being light.

I think light side is best because I felt so good playing it and then the ending when you find out what happens to all the characters is very nice. I fell bad when I play dark because you have to be VERY mean to people, like in KOTOR, I knew it was not right to let the slavers have Kasshek, but freeing them would have given me dark side points. I just felt so bad bout it, and in this 1 as well I have because of the decision on who i help on 1 of the planets, will not say what though. The good thing bout darkside is all the extra stuff u can get by being bad, which is y i chose dark the second time, you can go light getting the story line completed and getting all the good things then dark by saying lets fight to get u dark points without having to get light pointds by talking to them bout something else. like someone else said, the answers are a bit biased:
Answer 1: Light
Answer 2: Light
Answer 3: Light
Answer 4: Light
Answer 5: Shutup and Die Alian Scum!
And by saying die, you dont learn anything, so do light first.
This does not apply to all, because u can learn by playing darkside, but it is more fun to start the convo by tormrnting them and killing them.
Hope this helps!

Did anyone say you can't be an anarchist in real life? Not all anarchists have to be pure evil or even slightly evil, you know. I think I might be an anarchist myself...who knows?
I like being lightside in game but, in KotOR II at least, lightside is actually MORE anarchistic. I mean you can side with the shamanistic aliens (LS) or the evil, power hungry corporaation (DS). The LS path is the anarchist's path, IMO.
I agree with Faust:

Anyway, anarchists are not the servents of satan or evil. I think that some of the smartest people are often anarchists because part of what makes them anarchists is not doing what the government tells them or not beleiving what they say. And if the government is trying to brainwash people then if you don't beleive what they say you can break away and actually LEARN something.
RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT.
That was way off topic. No one respond to this post or the thread will spiral into chaos. Sorry.

DS is more fun - just run amok killing ppl - isn't having to restrain yourself in real world an annoyance enough? Besides, DS Force Persuade options are hillarious at times - see pit at Nar Shaddaa and Merc Camp at Dantooine.

I just read the whole post and was somewhat "inspired."
To all of you hypocrites who say that they feel good about being LS in KotOR: don't you feel even better to do good deeds in real life? Perhaps you shouldn't be playing comp. games but sign up for some volunteer work?
To wusses who feel "guilty" about being DS in KotOR: well, the feeling is well founded at first, but after you kill a dozen of innocents or so, you should get into the spirit...
About the whole anarchism theme, in real life you can't truly be a "true" anarchist - you have to break laws ot be one. Naturally, a jail is not a place you want to be... besides, this screws up your job record for good. Well, I guess you can be an anarchist on a lifeless island somewhere...
