Re work bench - does one guy need all the high stats?

Hi

I'm still early on in the game (Telos), but have noticed that to upgrade items on the workbenches you need varying stats - treat injury, security, etc, depending on what upgrade you're trying to do.

If I'm wanting to create a great lightsabre (later in the game of course), does the main character need all the high stats - one high stat for the lens, one for the emitter, one for another component - and so on? Or can one character with one high stat (eg. security) create one element whilst another with a high demolition stat (for instance) do another? I've got a feeling you're going to tell me that the one character has to do all.

If that's the case, if I'm playing a LS Jedi Consular and have been focusing my stat increases on 'Persuade', should I start adding numbers to demolitions, etc which I think are cross-skills??

Thanks

Wutai

No you can have your NPCs make the items for you.

Re work bench query

Thanks Jeremiah - but it seems that you might need one character who has all round good stats (a high demolitions, computer use, treat injury, etc) to assemble a decent lightsabre. Is that correct?

It just seems at the moment that playing a Jedi requires most numbers bring pumped into 'presuade'....

Not necessarily one. You can have a demolitions expert handle all the items that require a high demolition skill and have another NPC be your computer expert and so on. Chances are though that you'll have at least one character that can handle the majority of the upgrades and another who can pick up the slack.

You can also find various head gear, gloves, belts, etc that will boost your stats and you can also have a Jedi cast valor to further boost your stats (INT bonus).

You don't need to make stuff in the Ebon Hawk so you can use other party members to make better saber upgrades on the workbenches you find on planets

You might want to take 20 points in treat injury and repair though, since for breaking down items your main character's skills are counted, not the person who's using the workbench.

Also, computer use might be a good idea for T3 reasons. But that's up to you, I guess. I'm playing a LS-Sentinel with 16 intelligence and only class skills and I gotta say, I love not being dependant on party members. I can just do everything myself just as good.
