MODDED
I have ease of use and itemm upgrade and improved cespy installed.
Problem is it seems that cromwell does not want to make the old items. Like I have the hammer of T-bolts and girdels and gaunts. he did not offer to upgrade the hammer. Others arn't even mentioned. NOTE::: I did not have the scroll with me, but I figure he would of asked anyway? I have various pieces of pre-modded stuff but they also are not mentioned. SO when and where?? Or is all new stuff with old pieces? Also are (for example) the items merged usable at will? (ring of protection and ring of regen= will they go on a charactor with magic amour? ect..)

Do you have the items in your inventory or are they in a bag of holding. I don't think it triggers if they are in a bag of somesort.

Are you sure that he'll say something like "You need the scroll so I can make the hammer" or anything like that? I wouldn't be surprised if he only makes stuff for you if you have all the ingredients.

Actually: I've had several items (dragon armors, to be exact) made by him while I already had the Equalizer pommel gem and the Crom Faeyr Scroll in my backpack (I don't have the Bag of Holding yet, so that can't be it) and he has not mentioned the items he can make with them at all, so I think you need to have all the items before he will make a comment about them.

Cromwell will ask you about the "item upgrade" items (offering all the different upgrades, non regarding if you have all the components); to see the old upgrades you must select the option "do I have something you can forge.." or similar. you probably wan't see it, because all the screen is filled with the new options of upgrading, so you have to scroll up (the dialogue option is the first I think), and you don't need to have all the components to have the offer of upgrading, just one is enough, but you wan't get the option to actually making it.

Well I did have the hammer in my backpack but no option to upgrade it. I had everything for it in fact exept the scroll. maybe this Item I do myself?? (Don't remember). I will try again. I could have a mod bug install problem of a sort here.
Thanks, reply as thine will.

When you are in long list of item choices, press 2 times "1"-button (maybe 1 time is enough but i have to press twice, somekind of bug I think) and Cromwell should start checking parts for standart items (I mean, not for IUM items). And if I remember right, Cromwell notices only scroll and no other Crom Faeyr item.

F-Man you-da-man. Thanks man, I think I was missing that dialog option. Helped big time. Those items are now open to me.

On the topic of upgrades, all goes well except for two items, were it seems I have the items but no dialog response to forge them. (Instead it says 'no later or not right now, something').

1)Citadel Helmet. Helm made by combining helm of charm protection and helmet of deffense and it 'says' for geagent pearls. I have all the items, as far as I know but no option to continue to the Citadel helm!?!? (Pearls?)
2)Improved Hallowed Redeamer. Combine demon heart, five scrolls of dispell magic and be of the greatest repute and have Torms blessing? I have 19 reputation all the scrolls, and a demon heart from eariler. How do I get Torms blessing? I think there is only one heart in the game?

Also can the sneeky gloves be made any better than 3 AC? (thiefs gloves)
Croms Teeth.

1. I don't have the improved items mod, so I don't know a lot about it, but there are definitely pearls in the game. If you do the Sculpture-quest involving Sir Sarles, you have to get the Illithium ore from Neb, the child murderer. The child spirits surrounding him each drop a pearl if you kill them, and there should be pearls in other places as well.

2a. Keldorn is a paladin of Torm, maybe he knows more? (No idea how the mod works) Isn't there a temple, or priest of Torm around somewhere? Have you been to the Halls of The Radiant Heart?
2b. You need a Demon Heart te restore power to the Planar Sphere after you've moved it. If I remember correctly, there are three demons somewhere in the netherworld (the strange red world that looks like Hell) where you move the Sphere to, and I think each of them drops a heart upon death.

1. Actually you require Helm of Defense, Helm of Charm Protection, 4 Pearls and 10,000 Gold.
2. You require reputation 20 and as Devilock said there are three demon hearts in the Mage Stronghold Quest (the Planar Sphere) and you only need to give one back to the Sphere to get out. That leaves you with two spares. You may also use the demon hearts from the maze level of the Watcher's Keep. That will leave you with 0 to 2 spares. (From IoM readme. :) )

And gloves of Master Thief are AC 3 and it's maxium. (I think it's quite good, think about mage/thieves and Veckna's robe (AC only 5) )

And since there are four child spirits in the derelict house where Neb hides... :)

Yes, that's true, but it's good to have more than 4 pearls if you want to make more than one helmet. Citadel Helmet is one of the usefulest helmets in the game. My party has three of them. (Solafein, Jaheira and Anomen)

The main thing to be careful of with the item mod is the installation order - installing the mods in the wrong order overrides part of cromwell's scripts, making it impossible to get him to rummage through your pack (to upgrade the crom, dragon armor, et al) and leaving him babbling about text from other characters (referencing Minsc, Cernd, et al).

As you can tell, this happened to me but I'm too lazy to reinstall. :)

Ok folks, I know about the install order and script error, because I had it before but reinstalled and fixed that. So I need 20 Rep for the sword of Keldorn.. I know about the money on all these, but is not an issue at this point. Take note I have helm of cham protection and defense and four pearls. I clua- them in, but did that with other items and they worked fine. I used gems and necklesses, FOR SOME reason I still don't get the option to make the Helm of Citadel. (CLUA and such is just a way for me to beta test the results, I plan on paying and playing my way through the item upgrades).
Help with Helm or I will use that dasterly (unessasary) SHADOW Keeper

Alsdo with the gloves that use the bracers to upgrade, I had bracers of AC 3, 4, and 8. It used the AC 4 one. Is there anyway to make take a lower number bracer? Unsure if this is important.
Maybe you all have some feedback on my Theifs guild thread?? MAYBE

OK, I checked the page where you can download the Upgrade-items-mod, and in the readme it says:
WARNING! Do not use ShadowKeeper to give yourself the components for an
upgrade and then complain that Cromwell and Cespy won't let you do the
upgrade. ShadowKeeper will often list multiple entries for an item (e.g.,
there are two "Pearl"s and two "Wand of Lightning"s in ShadowKeeper's item
list) -- but only one of them is really found in the game and only one of
them will work with the Item Upgrade mod. If you give yourself the wrong
one (and it is easy to do since they have the same name) you won't be able
to do the upgrade.
Find the readme, including list with all the recipes, here if you haven't read it yet.

No, the recepie is only that, bracers Ac 4 and you get AC 3 on the new one, no other option.
Regarding the pearls, as Devilock posted, you have to find them, because SK or clua them is not guaranteed that they will be ok.

If an item turns up twice in SK, just add enough of both to make the item you want.
