KOTOR II Female Romance option SUCKS!

My husband and I currently have parallel games of KOTOR II going on – I’m playing as a light side female, he is playing as a light side male. We are enjoying the game, HOWEVER, I am extremely irritated that while my HIS romance option is a gorgeous Echani handmaiden who practices sparring in sexy black underwear, MY romance option is the freaking over-the-hill DISCIPLE! First of all, he looks like old Richard Gere on a bad hair day. Secondly, he is a nicey-nice scientist/historian with a pansy voice who follows me around like a puppy dog telling me how much he admires me.
I would have loved to watch the strong, silent, and sexy Bao-Dur struggle with conflicting feelings of respecting his superior officer and growing attraction for me as we travel together. I would have enjoyed breaking down the shell of unpredictable bad-boy Atton, challenging him to confront his past and unlock his true attraction to me. I would have even liked the option to show Mira that men really aren’t worth more than the bounties on their head and open her up to the true pleasure of my Force powers, but NO! They picked the LEAST desirable, least challenging, most un-enigmatic character in the whole game and thrust him on me.
I know there are probably a lot of programmers who don’t have a lot of experience with what women want, but take a look at pop culture and get a clue! Yeah, Luke was cute, but we really wanted to sleep with Han Solo. We swoon over sexy dangerous Angel (in Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Legolas is definitely gorgeous, but Aragorn is the one with dark, rugged mystery surrounding him.
After playing through Baldur’s gate and putting up with the whining of goody-goody Anomen, and now having that eager, bright eyed disciple make passes at me (while my husband laughs his @$$ off) I am despairing of ever finding a game that understands! Yeah, we marry the nice reliable guys, but we don’t want them invading our fantasies as well!

See there is a major prob with the romance. If you acctualy pay atention to the game and acctually listen to the jedi code then it says that LOVE and almost all emotion can lead to the dark side.So there is a major prob.Jedi aren't allowed to love.See i think on the dark side ending it would be all right but I thoughht about it and decided that it woukdn;t be beacuse...You are dark side.I think there should not even be a whole romance thing after you choose your'e path.

What?!

Wait a minute... I thought if you were playing a female character, you fall in love with Atton? Because he's definitely falling for me... I want Atton, not that gay *** with the annoying sandy hair and ugly face and.. bleh. -_- Mira thinks he's hot, SHE can have him!

BAH. Why do you even bother? They are all weaklings you should leave behind when you have gained whatever power you may squeeze out of them.

It's not so good for us male char players either. Mira is just that "experienced tough scoundrel" type. Bad thing is, you get her to open up a little bit and she turn into this "innocent glassy eyed little girl", more like a daughter than a possible lover.

Handmaiden strips for you, true, but she is far from beautiful (if you can direct your gaze up to her face that is). Hair cropped like a soldier, vacant eyes that have no expression and a face that never ever smiles.

I won't even discuss Visas.

well you see either way even if atton was "falling for you",then the council probably not even except you backbeacuse jedi arn't alowed to love.Remember episode 1 where whats her face talks to anikin and he says that jedi aren;t allowed to love?.Just think about it.Love leads to lust, lust is also yearning and excitment, through excitment brings anticipation throught that leads either fear and/or anger, lol, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.Over this meeting is.BTW the one you described, and said that mira thoughtwas hot did you mean bao-dur???

That code on love is kinda a grey area IMHO, one of the jedi masters of the council was noy only allowed to marry but had quite a family as well (with children and all). I do not know how strictly that is applied.

It's a faulty argument/code anyway, stop a young adult from having an affair or a little action for some time and he/she is BOUND to go rampant.

Jon_Irenicus: I won't even discuss Visas

There is nothing wrong with Visas (aside from being blind which she compensates for with the Force)

I agree Visas is damn hot.I once let that slipped infront of my girlfriend and she kept on saying "what is a mutaki"?I was hisaticly laughing beacuse she couldn't pernouncs the mane of her race.BTW she isn't a big fan of star wars.

Actually love is only not accepted during the pre empire jedi order and there are exceptions such as in the canon ending for Kotor and in the book it says the jedi accept bastilla and revans marriage and in Luke jedi order attachments were allowed as if they had been before then anikan never would have turned dark as he would have told about padme and gotten help and many jedi have loved quigon fell in love with a jedi named tahl and he didn't turn dark and obiwan fell in love with siri and he didn't turn dark neither of them did even when their loves died and Luke married ex emperors hand mara jade and they had a son named Ben walker so as you see love among jedi is quite common and rarely leads to the dark side that is a myth

first of all, can I just say... husband and wife gaming time, pretty awesome

and secondly I have agree, having played the game on both sides, an as both sex's, the female playthrough's love story is rather lackluster (or course for me as a guy, that was kind of a plus, not wanting to have to engage in any intense romance dialogue with another guy lol) but, I digress

the game does come across a bias towards male players, Disciple seemed like he was put in as an after thought

I seem to recall some extra dialogue triggered with Atton, of that nature, while playing on the dark side, might want to give that a try on your next playthrough

have you two played the first game together yet? the love story for the female character is much better in that one (FYI also better if you play on the dark side)

Handmaiden might LOOK good but thats all there ever is. I found those KotoR2 "romances" extremely laughable.

Dear, this is Ms Fullstop: .
I suggest you and her go on a date sometime. You might not have much in common, but hey, who knows what might bloom from it? ;-)

There's also some romance-esque talk with Mira, as a male character.

Yeah, she basically tells you to sod off. Very romance-y ...

Actually, she says that it will be hard to make it work out; she's very much into the Exile.
Apart from male Revan x Bastilla in KotOR, none of the character story-arcs really qualify as a romance. At the most, two people who have feelings towards each other.

I disagree, I thought the Visas Mar romance was the best of them all.
